  1. Snake bites? Sounds about right! The Rattle Snakes do get pretty large here............. Actually NC is famous for being the first state to cede from the Union, and the last to rejoin after the Civil War, if I'm remembering correctly (I hope that's read as just History................)
  2. As do I! John, that wouldn't happen to be DupliColor Cranberry for Chrysler, would it?
  3. There are a few of the Lindberg kits that have the same chassis as the one in Bill's post above.... Dave, I have the Mustang II front suspension from the Revell '37 Ford if you'd like to go that route. It used to be a pretty common swap..........
  4. Tom, have you ever been down to NC? There are people here that talk still like that letter reads! The hardships the author was facing sounds like they didn't have time for a proper education....... too busy trying to survive on a farm.
  5. I haven't been watching it, but I was looking at cars on Craigslist in Arizona...... evidently guys are turning to it to sell cars they brought to sell at the auction. Saw a '69 Charger 500 that a guy was asking $155K for. Also a '66 Hemi Coronet sedan for about $80K...........
  6. Most of my builds only last about 2 or 3 years before I either find the need for parts from it, or try to improve them somehow and do more damage than good........ My modeling "resolution" this year was to not tear into built models any more.
  7. This Porsche from Tamiya is the very first model car that I showed on the site. I'm surprised that I still have it, as that was almost 6 years ago....... Just a simple curb-side kit that most of you are familiar with.... Any of you guys care to show some of your work from your early days on the forum? It's always fun to look back and see how your skills have changed............
  8. I've got the chassis pretty much finished...... With it and the interior done, all I really have left is to paint the body, then it's assembly time! I need to decide if I want to run the kit's headers, or a pair of wrapped headers from a nascar kit........ Thanks for looking, and all comments are welcome
  9. The meanest birds we have here are the Mockingbirds..... They are very territorial, and will chase birds that are many times their size.... I've watched them even take on Turkey Vultures........ snakes, you name it, if it's too close to their area they will chase it.
  10. Porsche was on to electrics and hybrids in the early 1900s...... in fact, I think the first Porsche was an electric carriage..........
  11. I am so loving this dog, man........ They really are great dogs! Here's a pic inspired by ms. Callie Pants............ it's color pencil.
  12. Please show some pics of your progress........
  13. That sounds pretty High Performance! Nah, just going for a mild cruiser........ Thanks for the idea, tho!
  14. Thank you, fellas.... your comments are always appreciated! I painted the interior with Tamiya "Dull Red". I really like it, nice color and sheen. I also want to use some '48 Ford bumpers, we'll see how it works out..... The steering wheel from the '56 300B will replace the Grant GT wheel that comes in the kit. Thanks for your interest and for looking in..............!
  15. Is it at all possible that we are closer to the Sun than we were? Maybe just a cm would cause a change in climate. The spheres in our Solar System are on a huge "blanket", with the Sun in the center......... eventually all the little spheres roll into the bigger one........
  16. I wasn't happy with the stance of the rear, so it came down some......... Looks much better to me now! Now I'm working on getting the body parts to line up as they should. I just need to get the main body to nestle down into the fenders, then the front pieces should line up...... Hope you guys are enjoying, and all comments welcome..........
  17. Hey, friend....... If the glass piece is tinted all the way thru it, you can maybe polish off the signature...... that would give the glass a nice shine also, and make it more realistic.....
  18. This is some kind of Cool!
  19. Thanks, Mike... One would think that as much racing went on thru the '50s and '60s they would have developed MSD before then........ Some progress to show, basic frame stuff painted, and a final ride height check..... I lowered the front by using a spring with less arc than the kit piece, the rear is out of box...... Thanks for lookin'!
  20. Some progress to show...... filled the hole in the firewall and the fuel door, and started on the engine........ Tell me what you think.......!
  21. Thanks for the interest, Fellas! I have a good feeling about this project, I think it's gonna turn out good..... Plan is to use this gray from DupliColor, that is if I can find some at the parts store. A question for you guys...... Would a custom car in the '60s have an MSD box for ignition, or just a coil? Again, thank you for looking in..........
