Looks good. I need to find one of these kits.

Like I mentioned in another thread, model car builders wouldn't be very good detectives...or detect their way out of a wet paper bag (I keed, I keed) Incomplete URL...painfully easy to figure out : Album Here -
Help what do I build next

Wouldn't that just slow it down? Of course it would sound good... -
I keep forgetting about it as well. I used to be excited about hobby show announcements, not so much anymore. Too many models over the years announced that I wanted, but never materialized.

Last I heard from Ed Sexton in regards to the Academy Daytona, they were still working on the design of the kit, to be completed sometime in September. With Ed back at Revell, we probably won't see/hear much about this kit until it hits the shelves. Perhaps they will have something to show at iHobby later this month.

Nice save...looks real

Hmmm...I see a theme here. We went from bodacious Tatas to bodacious Tatras. Where you go from here...I have no clue

I was trying to be helpful, that's all, based solely on my experience w/Fotki and their ActiveX uploader, and offered an alternative (to anyone that reads this thread) that will work regardless of OS and browser. If you assumed that my quoting you was at your expense, I'm sorry, that was completely unintentional. I was only trying to help others with the subject at hand since I formerly used Fotki's ActiveX (which I loved), but that option went away when I switched browsers. -
Model companies will like me.

Thanks, but it's nothing I created...it's just "Let Me Google That For You" as the others have shown...I've been using it for a couple years now, for those special occasions -

Unless they changed something, the ActiveX uploader doesn't work with Firefox, which at first was quite annoying, requiring a 3rd party uploader to upload large batches of photos. Fotki finally developed their own "Fotki Uploader" which is installed on your desktop and works quite seamlessly. You don't have to have your browser open, you open your folder w/the photos, select the ones to upload, right click and the standard menu appears with a prompt "Upload to Fotki", then follow the easy instructions (log in, choose the section to upload, name the album if it's a new one or choose an existing album from the list to add to). It uploads the photos in the background. What I generally do is to start the photos uploading from the desktop, then go to the album and set it all up as they're uploading in the background. Took me a little while to acclimate, but now I prefer this over the old ActiveX uploader. -
I've never had any issue with getting at least as good as what the EPA says on the sticker; my 88 Mustang 5.0 sedan, 5 speed w/3.08 axle averaged about 21 MPG in suburban driving, and would get anywhere from 27-29 MPG highway...that was using the old fashioned method of calculation. Legal freeway speeds are higher now, and with the 10% ethanol garbage gasoline we are forced to use here that seems to instantly reduce fuel economy by 10% at least on my older cars, I would imagine I wouldn't be able to get those numbers on that Mustang today.

Everyone with a built-in MPG display should self-calculate for several tanks, because the MPG displays on cars are generally optimistic by about 10%. Of course the car mfg. wants you to tell everyone about your "great" mileage, and want you to feel good about it too. Or don't self-calculate if you don't want to know the truth and want to keep on bragging about your mileage

If he's here in GA he can come by and cut my grass, should take about 30 seconds or so -
Good to know; I'm a bit gunshy about the Testors clear after hearing a few people report that it marks easily from contact or wrapping long after it's supposed to be dry. Same people report that Tamiya doesn't do that, and that mirrors my own experience. I can't risk damage from the soft foam of my model carrying case, or packing materials in case it needs to be shipped. Just this AM I shot wet final Tamiya TS-13 clearcoat on a model, and I've been buffing it this afternoon (after 4 hours in the dehydrator; roughly equivalent to about 32 hours of drying at ambient temperature). Didn't need Micromesh, that was used on all the previous coats. It's nice and dry and has a mirror shine. I spent a couple hours buffing off/on w/the coarse, and about 5 minutes w/the fine.

If you are polishing Tamiya sprays, it's absolutely the best polish you can use. You do 95%+ of the work w/the red cap/coarse, that's what buffs out the paint. If you pay attention to perfecting the basics of your paint jobs, so that your final coats of color and/or clear are smooth, you can often skip the wetsanding stage, or perhaps just use 3200/4000 grit Micromesh. The blue cap "fine" deepens the reflections, and the white cap "finish" is sort of a detailer; and it's the most expensive and not really necessary. Darker colors need the most attention. These polishes work well on enamels, but there are other polishes out there (Novus #2, Scratch-X, etc.) that seem to work better on other paints...the Tamiya stuff is best suited to Tamiya paint specifically. Used as a system, it's a rather brilliant way to get a beautiful finish with less effort than usual.

Very nice

Please guys, need your input.....

Not only does Tamiya not have a color quite like it, but...why beige? That color has to be the reason that variant of the kit was a complete sales dud. Yeah, we're going to put a beige Dodge Dart on the boxart! Tamiya TS-46 light sand coated with clear might be a reasonable match...if you really have to have beige. It might be too beige, and Racing White probably isn't beige enough. -
Well, the car has been in the media a lot since it's announcement and the ultra-low price. If I had a dealership, I would call it "Bodacious" and I'd have Robin Williams advertise it. Nano Nano! And I'd probably have an Indian host also advertise it "Goodness Gracious, you are going to love our Bodacious Tatas!"

I love it, and I love it more because you weathered it to look like it really gets raced! Nice work

Thanks; my model (restored from a damaged promo) was painted Tamiya Light Metallic Blue, the top and interior are black. It's a "replica" of a Caprice that some old friends of mine used to have. Their car looked great, had wheelcovers (I preferred the Chevy rally wheels), and a real slug of a 396 engine....I drove it one time and was surprised at how slow it was...and most recently saw an old road test of one from "Car and Track" of an Impala w/the 396 (see below) so I guess my friend's car was "normal" 0-60 in 13.7; quarter mile time 75 mph, 19.8 seconds! "Can't punch it's way through a wet Kleenex!"

Love the color This is an outstanding kit; I built one when they came out and was impressed. The tires look fine on it. Hasegawa also did their own Jota variant of this kit. I never cared for the appearance of the Jota (the "upgrades" look pretty raw), but the Miura itself is arguably one of the most beautiful designs ever. Looking forward to seeing more of this one!

I couldn't complete the survey. There was absolutely nothing on that list that I look forward to. Nothing. Zero. Zip. Nada.
