Now all you need to make it really Perfect is a set of Decals for the '69 24 hours at Daytona Winning Car. The Sunoco car driven by Donohue and Parsons.

Although you wouldn't have found Bridgestones on that era Race Cars the Racing tires were treaded.

Would ya like to Double your Money? -
What's most Funny about this Car is it was a Martini Car and the Martini folks thought the paint was so ugly they refused to have their name on it!

'70 Donohue Javelin - E-bay Madness
Crazy Ed replied to Crazy Ed's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's what I ment by filtering too tightly. I do my 'bay checks using "Toys & Hobbies > Models & Kits" because I get all the subgroups by not being too specific. Those folks may be looking under one of the many sub groups. Or They're just Nuts -
I think it's a REALLY nice Model.

Now don't for one second think I've got a problem with something selling for every penney it can get, ok. But there's a Kit that ends tuesday that's at $577 as I write this. And it's been started. http://www.ebay.com/itm/vtg-JOHAN-MARK-DONOHUE-1969-1970-trans-am-AMC-JAVELIN-1-25-MODEL-scca-NEW-COND-/110799926868?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19cc30b654#ht_1339wt_1398 What I find most curious is there has been a F/S kit with a buy it now price of $250 up for several days now. What I'm wondering is why hasn't one of the 4 active bidders grabbed up the less than 1/2 of what they're bidding. Could they be filtering so tightly that they don't see the other kit??? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-AMC-Javelin-promo-JOHAN-trans-am-Mark-Donohue-model-kit-RARE-sealed-/300643454736?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45ffbf0f10#ht_500wt_1413 I do enjoy watching the bidding Wars, but this one has me stumped

Santa stopped coming by here a few years back after I took a shot at him when he startled me and I mistook him for a burgler (You know for a Big Fat dude that Guy can really Move!!!!) . These days he sends his Brown clad Elves in their Big Brown Trucks. Today one of the Elves dropped off a Package that just kept on giving. Here's the Box opened A Close up of the Main Subject - I Love the Line "Penske Prepaired....." I wonder what Mark thought about that line? The contents The contentd of the White Box - The Roll Cage is made of White Matal! Also note the Nose and Tail Light assemblys. They're from the '70 Javelin kit. Now all I need is all the stuff in the Middle Continues in Pt 2. Yep there was MORE!

Darned inconsiderate of Jim Hall to place markings over surfaces that folks building kit's would have problems laying decals over seeing as he was one of the first to charge licensing fees to kit makers And given a bit of thought it HAS been a while since '66.............It just took some time to remember
-
No Problem, but it wasn't THAT long ago Oh and as the door decal just cut it at the seam. remember the doors were Gullwing style and opened where the decal crosses the seam.
-
Bruce, Nice Clean job on that 2D. FWIW the 2D's didn't run in the CanAm. They ran at Daytona both in '66 and '67 and in '66 only at Sebring, Nurburgring and Le Mans.

Crazy Ed replied to Crazy Ed's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If you're talking about this Kit : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Jo-Han-Mark-Donohues-69-AMC-Javelin-Model-Kit-/230713631077?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b79aa165#ht_500wt_1413 it's a '70. Donohue only drove the Javelin in '70 and '71. But thanks for trying to help. -

Thanks Paul. So how'd you fare through the Wallow Fire up there? -
Hello All JoHan and reboxed by AMT released kits for both the '70 + '71 Donohue/Penske - Sunoco Javelins. It's funny (well to me at least) that I have the # for the '70 JoHan - C-105:200 but not the AMT and the # for the '71 AMT release # T372-225 but not for the JoHan version. Someone out there care to fill in the blanks? Thanks
