  1. The body panels on the Daytona and '66 Sebring car from the rear window back were just body thickness open areas. If you are going to do a detailed version the inside was bare fiberglass. The Fujimi kit is for the '66 Nurburing, LeMans and '67 Daytona / Sebring cars. If you are planning to do the '67 car you'll need to remove the "Parascope" rearview mirror and replace the small block with a 427. I'll be looking forward to seeing your build progress and hopefully the reference images from Midland, TX. Ed
  2. According to Wiki: Spyder (or Spider) Similar to a roadster but originally with less weather protection. The term originated from a small two-seat horse cart with a folding sunshade made of four bows.[citation needed] With its black cloth top and exposed sides for air circulation, the top resembled a spider. Nowadays it simply means a convertible sports car. Works for me Ed
  3. Steve, Tom and Dan thanks for your input. Back in '70 my 3rd vehicle was a '60 1/2 ton Chevy Panel that came from Peninsula Industral Laundry in San Mateo Ca. that I was hopin' to recreate. Steve is the AAM a '60 or '64? Ed
  4. Thanks for checkin' Mike. I've heard the first thing to go is the Brain. Sure Wish I'd have remembered to write down what the heck #2 was............ Ed
  5. Lucky nothing Bad resulted, but another explaination is your Son wanted to replicate a Trunk Lid after a Tire caught Fire in the Trunk Ed
  6. Go Get'em Mike. Wishin' you EVERY Success ! Ed
  7. A few years back there was someone that made a Transkit for the AMT '60 Chevy Fleetside Pickup that turned it into a Panel Truck. I've done the Google thing and so far hit nodda. Anyone know who it is/was and if it's still available? Ed
  8. Generally around $40 - 50. Although several years ago I saw one go for >$140 on e-bay. But then on the right day you could probably get $500 for the recipe for Fried Ice and Whipped Air Pudding My Fathers Mothers Dinner for bad Grandchilderen Ed
  9. All of us that have out of production kits have at one time or another come across a price sticker that qualified as "WHERE WAS I WHEN ........... - I would have bought them out" or at least "That SURE isn't what I paid" Well I've got a few, but here's my favorite Yep, that's $0.99. "Ah Excuse me sir you only have 10 on the shelf. Are there any more in the backroom? And if so can I help you haul then to the Cash Register?" Ed
  10. Ok, 'cept for the fact it'll idle a bit rough ( ) very nice build. Ed

  12. You might be able to use the headlights from the Accurate Min Corvette Grand Sport kit. The Housing is ~6mm in dia and the lens' are ~5. Ed
  13. Hi Jim The Ferraris' were 60 degree V's. Could you be thinking of the Porsche 917's? They were air cooled boxer 12's Ed
  14. Union, Heller Testors Ferrari 512S Heller, Union Ferrari 330 P4 Ed
  15. How's 'bout a Red wash in the outter ring of #3? Ed
  16. Hi Mike The 2D used Weber Carbs with tall stacks. I seriously doubt you'll find a detailed trannie for the 2D. The Mini Exotics 2 has a fair replica of it but it's a stright axle not a independent rear. The closest in detail is in the IMC/Union 2E but it's in 1/25. Ed
  17. Hi Mike Welcome to the MCM Forum. For detailed chassis info/images also look for Chaparral 2 or 2A images (although Jim Hall would tell you there never was a 2A, just a 2). The 2D and 2 used the same Fiberglass Chassis. Ed
  18. Really nice clean and carefully built. Also your photographic presentation reflects the care and pride you put into building it. Well Done. Ed
  19. You might consider Aluminum Beer/Soda Cans. They are so thin now they can be cut with Sissors and are easily formed to the dia. you need. Just be careful with the sharp edges and you should be fine. Ed
  20. Heller did a series of Roadracers with this style of box Art. Nice enough for framing. Ed
  21. Let's not forget 69-73 Javelins and there were a whole slew of U2 Cars in the series also that most forgot about. Heck the first seasons point leader was an Alfa GTA! Ed

Yo Sean, You might not want to wait 15 years 'till your next build! That came out VERY nice. Ed
  23. Hi Wayne Look at your "label" on your Mag. under the Bar Code in the center is your Exp. Date. In this case it's Dec. 01 10. Which is why there will be a check for 2 more years arriving in Colorado in a day or so Ed
  24. They've got a nice selection of kits and supporting tools, paints and even some Resin Transkits! It's the only Hobby Shop in Tucson I've been to. Ed
