What non-auto model did you get today?
Ace-Garageguy replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I'd wanted to be able to do some heavy weathering on HO-scale locomotives and rolling stock, to simulate dead-line rescues waiting for rebuild/restoration in a holding yard on my planned layout. I'd also wanted it to be easily reversible, as the cheap broken/bodged/parts-missing "junk" I'll be filling the yard with will be stripped, rebuilt, and upgraded one at a time. After some experimenting, I find this stuff works very well for part of what I have in mind. -
Pretty decent deal on this set of water-soluble "earth" colors. Though they're marketed to train guys for landscaping, they work well for weathering plastic models too.

Yup. Clearly a separate part in this shot of the '61. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/61-imperial-25-smp-amt-original-1852404910 As to why...who knows? -
Outside this PM the birds are singing and the sun is shining, everything back to normal after the tornado watches earlier.

Yup, definitely my favorite build of this kit so far. It just looks right, including the color.

Tribute to Snake45

A friend who's only 2 years younger than me came by a couple of days back, and we were laughing about who would have believed that the wild guys we were back in the '70s and '80s would someday be crotchety old fossils. It seemed like we'd live forever way back when. EDIT: If I'd known then what I know now, I sure would have done a few things differently. -
Do you also have 1:1 project cars?

School bookbags we had to drag barefoot in the snow weighed 200 pounds and lunch, if we got any, was bread and water.

He had a stroke a couple years back. Odds are he had another one...just a guess though. -
Looks like arson to me. The fire doesn't appear to have started where any of the usual electrical hot-spots occur, but it does look like accelerant was splashed on the driver's side and into an open driver's window...unless it was sitting next to something else that was on fire, but it really doesn't look like that.

Gofer Racing makes a bunch of sponsorship and stripe and number/roundel sheets. -
"Grave" makes me think of gravy and that makes me think of sausage biscuits and that makes me remember I haven't had breakfast yet.

Toys for adults can be anything from model cars and trains to full-scale drag cars and racing planes, boats, even tricked-out gaming computers or woodworking shops, and are all equally valid and appropriate interests... and to me, anyone who doesn't like "toys" is B O R I N G.
