  1. I had no idea that GT40 roadster had ever been kitted. Or did you modify it to that configuration? IIRC, the real car was a rather unsuccessful experiment, ending up too heavy for its intended purpose.
  2. Yes. Indeed cool to see one being actually used as a car.
  3. PAINT STARTS AT ABOUT 5 MINUTES IN
  4. "Adult" doesn't seem to conjure up ideas of rational thought and decorous conduct today as much as it used to.
  5. Thanks from a long time Porsche enthusiast and owner. Oldest Porsche I ever owned was a 1950 (?) 356 split-windshield coupe that had been T-boned while racing in dirt-track events, if you can believe that. It was very early in my career and well beyond my ability to repair at the time. Sure wish I'd kept it now, wonder what ever became of it.
  6. "Goes with the territory" is a saying meaning "to be expected under the circumstances".
  7. "Ceremony" is often substituted for substance, lotsa talkin' the talk without walkin' the walk, so to speak.
  8. If it was me, I'd be satisfied with nothing short of the correction printed, with the accompanying photos, on next month's cover.
  9. Great model, but every time I see "New York look" I immediately think either completely gone to rust from halfway down the doors and beaten like a 30-year old unlicensed cab, or covered in graffiti inside and out like the subway cars used to be.
  10. Which nobody will ever read, just like nobody reads the corrections of things even the hallowed NYT gets hugely wrong, and so continue to believe...whatever.
  11. "Properly chastised" doesn't necessarily mean hammering a jerk into the ground, but sometimes it sure can be tempting.
  12. You present convincing evidence that brush painting bodies is a viable option, but I think I'll sty with my stinky old spray jobs. The thought of brush painting bodies makes me shudder when I recall the awful messes I made when I was a kid, and then how dramatically my results improved immediately upon switching to AMT, Pactra, and Testors rattlecans.
  13. Night time is the right time for snoozin' after cruisin'.
  14. Branches of a family tree may include characters best politely described as "unsavory".
  15. Sweepers are oft referred to by our English-speaking friends across the water as "hoovers".
  16. "Away team, assemble in transporter bay 7...except the Wookie."
  17. My guess would be complaints about the fragility. IIRC, Casey was apparently having "fragility" complaints on the gorgeous wide-five '36 Ford wheels he was making...of which I was lucky to get a few sets, and haven't had an issue yet.
  18. Today is, by all accounts, even weirder than yesterday.
  19. See? There's an upside to everything, even those pesky existential threats.
  20. Yeah, I'd try to start with an A engine too. If you can find one of these old 1/24 Monogram kits, you're halfway home.
  21. Beautiful model. Interesting it was made in 1/25. I've never seen anything like it. I've always admired the Japanese HO scale (1/87) brass locomotives, works of art, every one.
  22. Congratulations Craig. Nice model. (It really is a beauty, and my head would probably explode if something I'd built was credited to somebody else)
  23. Yup. I'm actually looking for a Suzuki Samurai with a blown engine. Sorry to hijack the thread. Back to business. I really like Kurt's idea. But how about this...a Honda N360 set up like a rally car, with a built Honda B16 or B18 mounted transversely in the back seat?
  24. People, people who eat people, they're the hungriest people in the world...
  25. Life is, to a large extent, what you make it.
