  1. This is about what I'm looking at but with the rear a touch higher and no white walls.
  2. I've got a few rules questions. Are we sticking to the "no headlights" rule? I've seen cars both ways so I wanted to ask. If we go with no headlights do we run taillights or not?
  3. Yep, if it wasn't channeled I'd have cut it like that. I have another 30 kit that will get that chop.
  4. I went ahead and got one of the more involved mods I was planning out of the way first. I took about more 2mm out of Revell's rather conservative chop. There's just something about 30 five windows with aggressive chops, if I wasn't also channeling this car I might have taken it down even more.
  5. Yes, the Will Do wrecker is a reissue of the Can Do kit.
  6. I got a Supra and a 67 Vette today, they had the 81 Camaro and 57 Thunderbird. All were shrink wrapped.
  7. Texas 3d Customs also has a transaxle that should be close, it's made for round bellhousings but the flange could be modified or replaced easily.
  8. At some point in the late 70s the model companies decided that more lug nuts were better so there are a bunch of kits that have nice looking but unusable wheels. Every manufacturer was afflicted to some degree, it's really an odd thing.
  9. All of the Coyotes in kits are marked 1/25. I'm using one from the 2014 Revell Mustang in the Tamiya GT4 kit along with most of the Revell under hood area and honestly you can't tell the difference. If you really want a 1/24 one you'll have to get a 3d printed on. Texas 3D Customs list his as 1/24 but you can find him here and get more information.
  10. It's typically the last thing I do if I use it. Panel lines definitely shouldn't be shiny and depending on the type of accent paint it can run or float out of the panel lines and into the clear coat.
  11. I agree, I typically wait until there's a few things I want because a single item gets a bit expensive.
  12. Maple Leaf Modelworks sells a a couple different quick change packages on Shapeways, either just the axle or with frame members for the new Revell 29/30 kits or the Revell 32s.
  13. When I finally get my desk finished it will face the wall on the right that you can't see so all my shelves will be behind me. Each shelf is on casters so I can pull it out and spin it around to see what's on it.
  14. I painted red rings on black wheels by spraying red paint on a paper plate and letting it flash for a bit then dipping the lip in the damp paint.
  15. If you can find one of the old Accurate Miniatures Grand Sport Corvettes or the Revell reboxing they have a 377 small block race engine and manual transmission. I don't know if the Webers are SCCA legal but they sure do look good.
  16. Here's my entry for the build, the Revell 30 coupe with the 312 from the Revell 57 Fairlane wagon gasser. I'm going to switch the modern four barrel carbs for the teapots from the Fairlane and might add the centrifugal supercharger if there's room. I got the steel wheels from the Revell Fairlane drag car and will probably use the rear tires from the 30 since this is a sand race. The plan is to use the channeled interior and maybe move the front axle in front of the radiator. The modern rear end will be swapped out for one of Chris's quick change units and the 312 will get some of his headers and valve covers. I might take a few more inches out of the top too if I get ambitious.
  17. The C series trucks were everywhere and used for absolutely everything imaginable, there's not much you could make it into that wasn't done to one in actual service.
  18. Don't worry, it's just to throw money at you.
  19. Believe me, I'm coming for you next pay day.
  20. I need that v12 flattie in my life.
  21. Ah, that's the problem. I am looking at the sedan kit now and had previously built a delivery. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
  22. I would have sworn there were extra parts to give these kits dual exhaust but in the kit I have there's nothing in there. Do any older versions have dual exhaust parts?
  23. Build video from Chris is up, the side stripe decals are better than the box top shows and better than in the previous orange car on the box release.
  24. I try to brace my elbows on the table then rest the heels of my hands together. I hold the part in my left hand and brush in my right. Check out figure painting videos, those folks have a lot of ways to steady your hands.
