  1. Fixing the window shape isn't too bad, it's the low spots that will be difficult.
  2. The new roof on this thing is pretty rough and will take to some work to get looking right. There seems to be enough meat in the edge of the window opening to sand a bit of an arch in it to lessen the too flat look. Unfortunately, there are some saggy areas where the t tops were. Here is the window opening after a bit of sanding. You can also see the dip over the window. I highlighted where the low spots are in the roof. The side profile still follows the old line but the areas for the top openings are low somehow.
  3. For what you're looking for I would look outside of a kit. Texas 3d Customs does a modified big block that would do the job nicely.
  4. I work in the natural gas industry and the consensus around the office is carbon monoxide. You've got to really hate someone to murder them and their dog, it just doesn't seem likely.
  5. Are you trying to go period correct or building something like the modern recreations done today?
  6. If the tires are the vinyl or rubber stuff you need Mr Super Clear. It's a bit pricey but will dry on materials other things won't.
  7. Keep an eye out and you should find one cheaper. I try to search once a week or so for things I'm looking for to find one's listed for lower prices.
  8. This kit will get you most of the way there and can be found much cheaper if you keep an eye out for it. The main part thats missing from this version is the hood scoop but it doesn't look too complicated to make from a thick chunk of plastic. It's much better than the AMT kit that's being reissued now.
  9. If it's going to be a custom you could use the early Hemi from the Revell 32 5 window kit. Texas 3d Customs also does the cross ram engine from tha era. If you do use the engine from the 53 Ford kit i would swap the transmission, I'm pretty sure it's for a flathead.
  10. If no one makes it one of the headlight pods from the Monogram 39 Chevy kits would get you there. Just sand it to fit the roof line and add the rib along the top.
  11. Check out his thread, he may be able to help you.
  12. I did the same thing 20+ years ago with the same result.
  13. My plan for one of these is to use he front suspension piece for a Monogram 64 GTO or 70 GSX. You could even add a set of spare upper A arms from something. Its not 100% correct but will look pretty factory and since it's one piece it should be easy to get to sit level.
  14. The worst part about the Orange Crate chassis is that it's chrome. You can't fix the mold lines, of which there are many, without ruining the chrome. You also have to clean up all the mounting points on the very fragile parts. When I attempt this kit again I'm going to strip all the chrome and once it's complete hit it with a "chrome" spray or pen.
  15. I think sometimes flat clear on the inside of the windshield could do he job, especially if you can airbrush it. I would put it on the inside since when that happens on a real car the glass is still shiny because the cloudiness is between the layers, not on the surface.
  16. That's cool, I might have to try this.
  17. This is correct, every outlet downstream of a GFCI outlet will be protected by it.
  18. I was going to say, that's not a factory color but the Boss gets what he wants.
  19. Member here Camaro69 had a lot of Dodge stuff on Shapeways, I don't know if he has come up with a solution since they closed down but he may respond to a message.
  20. I would love to know more details of the 73 Mustang. I could use a full set of silver Mach 1 stripes.
  21. Huh, I saw the length as 197 and change, BMW out then.
  22. The Galaxie and an 80s Caprice are both too long but the 733 would be closer. I wonder if it's a car fom the new season we haven't sent yet.
  23. "Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them."
  24. I wonder if wet sanding would help? That should keep he dust to about zero.
  25. The transmission might be an even more baffling choice than the engine. The Cobra could be had with a four speed and nothing changed in areas related to the transmission. Everything about the Talladega screams "we're only building enough of these to get them sanctioned" and with only 750 built the about did.
