  1. There's a BMW 2002 gasser around the Michigan area.
  2. I've been wanting to take a other crack at this kit, I built an early issue 25+ years ago.
  3. The Revell Z-16 kit is the first one that springs to mind. AMT is bringing back their stock 67 Chevelle, that might be a good starting point. The ex Lindberg 66 Chevelle might be worth looking at as well. Without having the kit in hand these are just guesses of what should fit.
  4. You won't find a sealed one for cheap, mine was water damaged, partially crushed, and started and was still $25 plus shipping.
  5. I picked up a pace car kit reasonably on ebay a while back, the engine was built poorly and the box had seen better days but almost anything missing can be sourced from one of the more readily available kits. The convertibles in particular go for pretty cheap at shows.
  6. There seem to be two of the Monogram kits left, the SVO hatchback and the 90 convertible. The 2010 reissue of the SVO kit was made in China, the 2001 reissue of the convertible was made in the US.
  7. You are correct, the video I posted explains it more thoroughly but the amber signals are compliant in the US so Japanese and European manufacturers don't have to change their lights. US all red lights aren't compliant in most foreign countries so export models have to have amber lenses installed.
  8. Thank you, the wheels are Aoshima, they have the correct 4 lug bolt pattern. I can't take credit for the paint, I pretty much copied this car.
  9. I've built the Monogram and MPC 79 kits. The MPC kit looks better to me, the Monogram kit has a droopy eyed look to it that I'm not sure how to correct. The MPC 79 pace car kit comes with both the standard nose and the air dam nose, the Monogram kits are either the air dam nose in the pace car or the standard nose in the red car kit. They're all easy builds though I'm not a fan of the MPC chassis and interior. Here is an 81 I built from the Monogram red car kit.
  10. It's got to have an engine, that's a huge reason why I build a model a given way is what the engine is meant to do. Without it a part of the story is missing.
  11. Here's a video that goes into more detail about America's bad turn signals. https://youtu.be/O1lZ9n2bxWA?si=ixQowczL00LlUzbs
  12. If it's in your budget I would buy a new kit and build it again. You'll never have your first builds back and you could possibly damage it enough during disassembly you need another kit anyway.
  13. Yes, this release will have a normal roof, there is also a separate flat hood that did not replace either of the originally supplied hoods in the kit. We will have to see if the T tops ever return.
  14. I agree with using tube glue for engine halves and heads, I like the extra drying time to line things up. Sometimes the alignment pins are misaligned too and that leads to the halves being uneven. I usually trim the pins off and sand the mating face of each half on a long flat sanding stick so I can align them better to save on sanding. Then I sand it with sanding twigs, you can get them on Amazon.
  15. I'm not sure what you mean. Both posts will yield a stock 72 Torino with an engine and modern chassis.
  16. I built this kit last year for the first time, I had avoided it for the previous 30 years becausei knew I wouldn't like what I found. I had planned to just build it out of the box warts and all. That plan didn't last very long. The fitment, or lack there of, of the windshield was more than I could bear. I ended up cutting the windshield free from the rest of the glass which helped a bit. Once I started changing stuff it just snowballed.
  17. I wasn't sure when the Camaro dropped the inline engine.
  18. I'm planning one too and Trevor is right. Unfortunately the Revell 70 Torino chassis is incorrect so you need the 76 kit. That kit doesn't play nice with the Johan body though, either the Revell kit is big or the Johan kit is small but the Revell chassis will need significant trimming to get it to fit. The wheel bases are slightly different too. I'm trying to decide if it will be easier to trim the chassis or transplant the Johan nose and fast back rear onto the Revell body. I added a couple pice to show how much bigger the Revell body is.
  19. He might have also meant the v6 from the 78 El Camino kit.
  20. That Blazer is impressive. The tooling is clearly designed to be modular, the Blazer specific parts are easily removed for other body styles to be included. I'm certain we will see pickup variants of this before long.
  21. When I'm working with clear taillights like that I paint them red then back them with bare metal foil. Silver paint isn't reflective but foil makes the lights look like they have some depth.
  22. The first one might be the Cadillac engine from one of the AMT 49/50 Ford or Mercury kits.
  23. I want to shout out DDs Speed Shop in addition to the others mentioned. I like a lot of his builds, and Dani's pretty nice to look at too.
  24. The channel There I Ruined It does parodies where he will have one artist sing another's song or made up lyrics but I don't know what software he uses.
