Source for 60s and 70s greens in a spray can?

I agree, once I get my model room finished an airbrush is the next major purchase. It will pay for itself quickly. -
Source for 60s and 70s greens in a spray can?
Fat Brian replied to Fat Brian's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I can get 12 Oz cans made locally for $30 so that is looking like the best route at the moment. -
I'm looking for somewhere to find correct 60s and 70s green paint colors in spray cans. I'm mainly interested in ivy green and highland green along with the light chevy green. I've tried modern paint and the tone just isn't right but I don't want to spend $30 on a custom mixed can from the paint shop.

It's a shame the cowl and windshield are so flat on these kits, the flared fenders are a neat option. -

The two front tires are the good Wide Ovals from the Baldwin Motion Camaro kit. The rest of it is typical of it's time, the body is good if you've got a stock chassis and interior. -

Steve, here's a good article about it showing what is considered to be the most correct Daytona restoration around. On that car the under side has gray primer showing through in lots of places. There are many Dodge and Plymouth cars out there with their entire floor pan painted body color and that doesn't seem to be correct. Since a lot of this work was done by hand I imagine there is some variation from car to car. https://newoldcars.com/why-factory-overspray-on-vintage-cars-is-so-misunderstood/ -
Those are extended shackles used to raise the rear end of the car. You can replicate them with Evergreen strips but they're pretty delicate. To kind of fake it you could add a couple thin strips coming down from where the rear of the spring mounts. As for the exhaust, not every car had the shotgun tips, especially cars without the hot engines. I imagine the car has the standard exhaust tips that just turn down behind the rear valance.

I've gotten into watching watching Critcal Role on YouTube the last few months. It's voice actors playing dungeons and dragons, it's something that doesn't need constant attention to listen to.

Design Pitch: MPC Retro "Forever 80s" collection
Fat Brian replied to Stef's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I've been gathering some of these kits from ebay recently. I would love to see these brought back in the current Round2 style with good decals and printed tires. I'm on the lookout for an MPC War Eagle Firebird now. -
The separate chrome trim looks great but I worry that the slightest amount of flash will wreck those parts.

Well, this might be interesting.

Yes, and every build he does starts out looking the same, like he has a technique to destroying the thing. -
This is a great idea.

In what vehicle did you learn to drive?
Fat Brian replied to BeakDoc's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Our Drivers Ed car was an early 90s Dodge Shadow, a hot steaming pile of k car garbage. Once I got my permit I drove my grandmother's 85 Delta 88. -
Yes, it will be coming out again sometime this year (or maybe next year, things are still a bit of a mess) but it's a reissue of a kit that's been around for a while. Revell has 4 or 5 kits that share all the major parts with this kit, a Willys pickup, a Thames panel truck, an Anglia, and an Austin at least.

Here is a link with pictures of the parts trees. The front and rear spoilers are optional. Personally I love the 1/24 Monogram kits. They aren't the most detailed but they fit well and most look just look "right". https://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/rm/kit_rm_2168.shtml -
Just a note about this kit, it's pretty old and some of the parts are not the best. You can build something cool with it but if accuracy is important to you some parts, mostly the engine, will need to be replaced. It's also not designed to adhere to actual gasser class rules and is more in the style of a "street freak" custom build.

Wound guitar strings can also be a source for throttle return springs. Cut the winding from the core with wire stripping pliers.
