  1. This is a great idea.
  2. Our Drivers Ed car was an early 90s Dodge Shadow, a hot steaming pile of k car garbage. Once I got my permit I drove my grandmother's 85 Delta 88.
  3. Yes, it will be coming out again sometime this year (or maybe next year, things are still a bit of a mess) but it's a reissue of a kit that's been around for a while. Revell has 4 or 5 kits that share all the major parts with this kit, a Willys pickup, a Thames panel truck, an Anglia, and an Austin at least.
  4. Here is a link with pictures of the parts trees. The front and rear spoilers are optional. Personally I love the 1/24 Monogram kits. They aren't the most detailed but they fit well and most look just look "right". https://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/rm/kit_rm_2168.shtml
  5. Just a note about this kit, it's pretty old and some of the parts are not the best. You can build something cool with it but if accuracy is important to you some parts, mostly the engine, will need to be replaced. It's also not designed to adhere to actual gasser class rules and is more in the style of a "street freak" custom build.
  6. The service truck does not have a stock bed.
  7. Wound guitar strings can also be a source for throttle return springs. Cut the winding from the core with wire stripping pliers.
  8. 68-70 B body, every car on this platform was a winner.
  9. This kit is more detailed with more parts than the snap kits.
  10. The most egregious problem to me is the way the holes for the headlights aren't the same shape as the actual headlight pieces or real headlights. I'm going to strip the plated parts and glue them in and fill the voids with putty to fix it. Then either foil or Molotow for the bezels.
  11. I've gotten some aftermarket tires that absolutely stink to high heaven and cheap Chineseum "rubber" that smells vaguely of gasoline forever so I do understand the comnent.
  12. You wouldn't necessarily have to gut the supercharger, there are dual charge setups where a turbo or turbos feed into a supercharger.
  13. There's also a Potvin setup in the Orange Crate kit.
  14. You might could save yourself some work by tracking down some of the tires from the Revell/Monogram sprint car kits.
  15. A lot of guys will paint the chassis primer gray then mist the body color on to the edges if the chassis.
  16. I'm glad to this, I didn't get one last time it was out and have been waiting to see it again.
  17. This looks great. I've got the Fujimi kit but stalled on it after I added an engine but couldn't replicate the headers.
  18. Did you find anything out about the availability of this part? I've found myself in need of one as well.
  19. Very nice, I love these cars.
  20. It does have the CB radio from the kit in it, I just need to dig out a guitar string for the antenna.
  21. There used to be a 50s themed burger joint a few towns over that had these for booths.
  22. The AMT 69 olds chassis fits really well. There is still a lot more to polish on that turd though.
  23. If you want to save yourself some work you could get a kit from the NASCAR truck series.
  24. Tamiya and Aoshima 17 and 18 inch tires fit the barrels.
  25. It's builds easy but the fit is a bit too tight in places. I had to sand the edges of the interior down along the window sill for it to fit all the way in after everything was painted. Same with the hood, you will need to take a bit off the sides of the hood for it to fit after everything is painted. The rear glass is also tight after the body is done.
