Thoughts on this
signguy2108 replied to plugger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've got 12 or so of this kit , knew it was a snap kit when I bought it, but just realized that nowhere on the box does it say "snap kit". Like Terry said, I use some just for parts, haven't had a lot of trouble with the tires so far. Mine are all shelf models, built for fun, so the suspension doesn't really concern me. -
Well, survived another heart surgery, fooled my doctors! Been back a few wks, time to get busy. Missed a lot of good looking rigs, kudos to all! This is just another modified snap kit started last year. I'll spare all the boring details and just let tye pics talk. More later. (Excuse the somewhat out of focus pics, still figuring out my galaxy, old guy-new technology!)

Anything sportsman drag racing, street rod, trucking, or sign/graphics related. My wife says I spend way too much time with a magazine in my hand!

I have never been a big fan of the full fenders either, but this one just seemed naked without them! Try to work on it tommorow. -
Well, while the paint is drying on the box truck, decided I'd put this one to rest. Snap kit wheels & tires, installed the snap kit 3406 cat (then found the cab will not tilt because of bumper/grille). The sunvisor/bumper are aluminum, grab handles are aluminum tig welding wire. Custom decals.

Paint day! Finished the bumper/trailer hitch (will be black later), painted body and wheels, will let it dry a day or two (krylon rattlecan). So I guess it's back to the big rigs for now... -
Anybody up for a modern W900L?
signguy2108 replied to BigBad's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Anything new, I would like to see something in the freightliner line, any columbia, cascadia, or the cascadia evolution, (picture of one in the new issue of OVERDRIVE) Or how about a medium duty FL70? I would like to see the volvo 6 0r 7 series reissuede. -

Got a little more done today, rear bumper, frame extensions, cut 3/8" off the box height, first coat of primer. This turned into a "build for profit" today, a friend of mine wants it lettered up to put in his business office. More tommorow.... -

Tom, still debating on the rear door, it's a shelf model, so not sure about making it work. The chassis & wheels are from a junkyard ford duallie that has been rebuilt several times. I'm working on the rear bumper now, updates later. -

Thanks guys! I still have to finish the interior, engine, and some other details. The breathers are made from the clear tubes that x-acto blades come in (5-pack), wrapped in chrome vinyl. Maybe I can finish it this week! -
When the forum went down, I kinda lost interest in my models for a while. Decided this morning to pull a couple out and work on them. The petebilt is another snap kit, scratch built sleeper, bumper, long tanks, etc. I started on it about 6 months ago! Got the fenders and the "chicken lights" (vinyl cut on a plotter) on this morning. It will pull a matching Mobius reefer, (sill in the box!). Also got the power unit on the race trailer. More to come....
