The only thing I can say is "never convicted!" In truth, my dad was a peace advocate and protester of wars in the hippie era. This model was a tribute to him, as was this '26 Ford Fordor (not a typo) sedan that was his first car. As an aside I still own the car he bought as a high school student.

17 models in one year? That's stunning. I don't think I've finished 17 models in the last 20 years! And...all of them look great. Very impressive.
-
Thanks for the compliments. Looking at it in the photos, I see at least three places that need to be touched up. Never fails!

I probably posted this one a long time ago but it fits this thread...which is a great thread by the way.

I present my rendition of Missing Link's resin reissue of the SMP 1911 Chevrolet, my first completion in over two years. While it is correct to have no top and no windshield for these cars, personally I think a car looks sort of ugly without them. I had a very hard time cleaning up the flash on the kit provided wheels, and ultimately decided to replace them with a wheel tire combination from the AMT 1923 Ford Coupe kit....and destroyed one of those too. There is no engine supplied in this model. I considered scratch building an engine for this kit, I really wanted a model that was done. Warts and all, here it is. I think it looks decent along side another crude model, the Tonka 1913 Ford Model T Touring.

Continental Mark II Convertible

There's one I would love to get my hands on! I really enjoyed seeing your car at St. Johns...or was it back in the Meadowbrook days? -
I thought the last post would be the end of WIP posts but not surprisingly, this kit decided to fight me a bit more. In the meantime I added some details to the floor assembly and built the windshield and top boot. I still think I am 4-5 hours from completion. This will be my first complete (start to finish) model in over two years.

That has to be the nicest rendition of this kit I've ever seen. Well done!
-
I was in a small way instrumental in this model's completion having held it in my hands but knowing it needed expert assistance. Pico has done a herculean job with this model and completed it to a level that is far better than almost anyone could. Well done me friend! Eric

I have seen this one in person and it is indeed a pretty big car. When I saw it I was surprised that it really was not in pristine condition. Indeed, the car was a 10-footer. Your model has done the real thing justice and is probably in better condition that the 1:1 car. Very, very nice!

Very, very nice. This is one of my all time favorite model kits of one of my all time favorite cars. You have certainly done it justice.

Here is what will likely be the final mockup photo. There's not a lot of detail in this old kit but you can do a lot with paint.
-
I would say you have done a fine job with this all sound. It looks like a variation of half the cars in my neighborhood when I was a kid.

I really like this one. I can answer the questions about the lights. Those are cowl lamps also known as parking lights. Nearly all cars of the era had them. Great model in very nice colors.
-
I like it. By '27 nearly all Midel Ts had wire wheels so you are good on this one. I love Midel Ts, in scale or full size!

I would love to see a photo of the model sporting the Hasslers in place. It would be a beat but tricky to build addition to a Model T in scale. -

I see a lot of them on speedsters. -

Very nice body of work. I especially like the Corvette and the fictional weathered 300SL.

That sure looks the part. Miatas are great cars. I've owned 1:1s and will own at least one more some day.
-
I am stunned. This is fabulous. And...it seems you are moving incredibly fast toward completion.

I bought this 10 years ago...give or take. In contacting Kevin at Missing Link he said the mold has deteriorated to a point where it is no longer usable so apparently there will be no more...unless someone else recast one. You are exactly right about the wheels. I suppose I could try to cast more of them but I did not want to get that deep into it.. Thanks for your interest in mine!

This kit is supposed to be a slump buster for me...a slump that has been two years long. As a result, I am completing this as a very basic build. The paint is Testors model master dark blue. The fenders are Tamiya black and the chassis, running gear and wheels are Rust-Oleum cream. I know that's wrong historically but I wanted a little more visual interest for the underside of the car. The windshield will be a parts box Model T item painted brass with Alclad gold. I'm also using AMT 23 Ford wheels with the lugs for the demountable rims sanded off. I plan to paint the tires gray which will be era correct. I am hoping to have it done in time to celebrate 101 years since the first Chevrolet was sold on Jan 7.
