  1. Steve. Its a picture from the ebay listing It does have an interior but i havent taken it apart to really ck it over yet. Its in the case till another day.
  2. Agreed, to some degree . Rare doesnt always equate into valuable . But when it comes to Johan kits , they are / were the only game in town for a bunch of subjects back then . I personally dont ever see getting a new tool 1970 Cadillac at any time in the future . This why I said at $30, IMO its a no brainer To me about any Johan kit is worth upwards of $30-40 range and most can/will easily climbing into tripple digits on a regular basis . Even some builups are climbing near tripple digits consistantly. Just today I bought a builder 1960 Dodge Polara kit, and it cost me almost $80, not including postage .
  3. Sorry but you better ck your source. No air grabber hood avail on anything Mopar in 1968 . Unless you count the 1968 Hemi Dart and Barracudas which is a forced air fiberglass hood and scoop
  4. What he said, I've used Micro set on just about everything with no ill effects
  5. Might pick up a couple of the 69 Barracudas, ( might ,,I have a few of them already ) Will definitly think about the 2 Pontiacs though. Otherwise ,,,meh
  6. For $30, postage included I'd take a chance on it complete or not . And Im not a cadillac builder.
  7. This one showed up yesterday. A decent Johan 1959 Dodge. I bought it exactly as shown. I could have done better, but I 'm not unhappy with it enough I plan to redo it anytime soon..
  8. 1, and I will be brutally honest. its going to depend on quality. 2- how complete it is . I can make my own chassis and running gear but making my own glass may be a deal killer for me. 3- at $65 for a complete W500 cab if its essentially complete, ,,,grille already chromed. complete interior and glass included and I'm in for at least 2,,,maybe 3 or 4 IF ,,,its a 4 door cab, but may be interested in a 2 door cab as well ( just not as many ) I already have a W200 4 door cab from RMR. Its ok but not modelhaus quality
  9. How it appears today is 100% out of the question
  10. WOW. The paint work to replicate that is going to be off the charts
  11. Looks amazing, But have to ask, Why do the frame rails in black ?
  12. I guess 'beauty' is in the eye of the beholder.
  13. This is a non air grabber equipped car. They have a semi gloss black ribbed metal insert instead of the reddish/orange screens on AG equipped cars. As an aside, the dual black stripes were an option and has nothing to do with AG equipped or not . Ps, the air grabber was not even an avail option in 1968, regardless of how it was equipped.
  14. I have a couple of the issues with the red car on the box and it has the 68 hood in it . FYI, an air grabber was an option on ALL 1969 GTX's and Road Runners , but Standard on Hemi cars The hood itself was the same, they just addred screens to the top opening / vents and then added the fiberglass air grabber box / duct work to the bottom side . I had read elsewhere on this forum that early 69 cars had the 68 style hood,,,this info is incorrect shown , is a 1969 hood. Air grabber cars have a red screen material in top of the vents
  15. i might have to get me one of these , for a something different build
  16. Thanks fellas. I was thinking about the version in Hollywod knights
  17. if one was planning to do a replica of the Popular Hot Rodding magazines project car. Project X 1957 Chevrolet What is the best kit to start with ? Mainly looking for a nice shelf piece not a full on dead nuts rivet counting replica
  18. Friend of mine took one of these kits many years ago and pro streeted it. You should have seen the looks he got when he debuted it at a show. ( of course this was over 25 years ago ) But he still has it
  19. Considerably less . unbuilt Johan 63 Plymouth kits are usually all over Ebay . Be patiant they can be had for the $40-$50 range if you look around .,,bought my last one a couple years ago . That was unbuilt in the box . But the box was stained and it ended at some weird time,,I hit it for $35 tops and went to bed,.. Woke up the next day and found I won the thing for under $30 But if someone wants to pay $100 for one, I have 2 or 3 I would cut loose of . And by all means avoid the original Promos . unless your a glutton for punishment The 63 Dodge kit on the other hand is a very different story value wise . Even the 62 Dodge and Plymoth kits are starting to get a little pricey I for one would love to see a new tool kit of pretty much anything 62 thru 65 Mopar kits
  20. I just finished one of these , but started it a few years ago. But I dont remember any fit issues getting the chassis or interior up in the body . definitly dont remember having to do anything special to the glass
  21. A decent builtup Bruce Larson car just sold on Ebay and I dont think it broke the $35 mark . They are not that hard to come up with ( just a little to new for my interests) There is an unbuilt kit on there now ,,,and so far its reasonable....so far
  22. I think the hide away headlight stuff from the Dukes charger will work What you need to do,,,,, all depends on the actual car. There were different tail lights for different models in 72 , as well as different doors ,,all depending on how the car was equipped sidemarker changes will be the easy part. Interior may also be a problem , bench seat or buckets , and I think the seat pattern is different between 71 versus 72
  23. Agreed, IMO, if theyre are go ing back date the tool. going to a 71-73 body would sell much better. And I would be all over a motion vega kit
  24. Most of there air tools are cheap junk. and not worth the effort . Same goes for the spray guns . I bought one of there coil spring compressors and it broke on the 1st spring I used it on. I will use them for sand paper, gloves , hammers, shop towels, shop light bulbs . . Even the occasional socket if I only plan to use it once. There wrenches or screw drivers are so so if the fastener isnt rusted or super tight . But for the hobbiest 'most' of the tools will suffice I do have one of the roll around tool boxes were the top opens and a few drawers( the red one thats an open space on the bottom ) . I like it , seems sturdy enough for my semi professional shop use . I also have a set of the car skates and they work real good . I needed an air brush last year for a quick job on a 1/1 car project and it works pretty good. A friend of mine bought there jack stands,,when he got home. He fired up his welder and went over all the welded areas after looking them over.just for his own piece of mind otherwise they work good with no problems
  25. Mines isnt as tall, but been using the same thing for many many years. Simple, cheap and it allows me to spray the inside of the body where needed
