  1. One of my favorite cars of the day. I am so looking forward to see the hand done artwork for the body
  2. Ayone know if the actual still exists. It didnt fare so well on the circuit back then and was kind of short lived
  3. its how i do mine. Sometimes silver paint will do
  4. WOW My hats off to everyone who builds the larger scale kit. You guys make them look so real
  5. Well, after 2 or 3 years sitting on the bench or in a box. Its done , ( that's 3 in less than 2 weeks ,, which just might be a record for me ) This is one of the kits where the body and interior tins are all molded in a clear red plastic. . There's nothing on it but a coat of wax Built straight out of the box. I cant decide if I want to put the parachute on the back or not as I think i it muddles up the back of the car . Gonna have to think about it for a bit. Until then its in the case for another day Comments good or bad very welcome and much appreciated. thanks for looking.
  6. VERY Well said. I would much rather they just make a note on the instructions to drill the holes out IF NEEDED, as 90% of my builds will not have stock exhaust anyway
  7. That was the 1st thing I thought of when I opend this thread. I really like it ,,,,,,,a lot.
  8. I've had a couple opportunities to sell this one for much more than I paid for it. Even after I started it. But I no longer buy kits to make profit on. I buy for me . Even when new I didnt know they were moulded in red, I thought the ghoust cars were all moulded in clear. So I was pleasently surprised when I opened the box. I've ckd ebay a few times and never seen a red Cuda or charger come up for sale
  9. I already have a set of Butch Leal decals to do his RO51 ?
  10. Chassis On the 1/1 it was most definitely a light powder blue.
  11. The body and interior tins are molded in a clear red plastic. I have one of the ghost chargers but its molded in clear ,,,not sure what I'm going to do with it . But I did manage to get some bench time this afternoon and I have it about finished. I'll button up a few loose ends this morning and call it done.
  12. Well, moving onto another unfinished project. This one was up next. I decaled the body, painted the engine , assembled the chassis and suspension and its sat ever since. So I spent the morning working on it. I started this car maybe 3 or 4 years back. Only to get sidelined when my mind got sidetracked.( easy to do ) Not anymore. I want it done , off the bench and in my display case by the end of the week. Its box stock build ( I keep moving forward with less likelihood of distractions that way ) I was wondering how to glue the interior tins in to avoid glue marks on the clear body, Turns out they fit pretty snug so no glue needed. I have seen pics of this car with either a red chassis and black, in the end I decided the black would show up better under the clear body Comments or criticisms always welcome , I'm a big boy I can take it.
  13. All the Polar lights chassis are the same,,just a different body. Competition resin makes a nice body to this car I'll be tuned in for this one. I saw the restored car a couple years ago at the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green Ky
  14. Very cool. Can I have it I have one of these right on top of the todo list ,,the very top actually. I made a promise to myself to finsh any and all projects first before starting something new this year.
  15. My parents drove whatever caught there eye at that time. So I was loyal to none. My first car was a 1966 Pontiac Tempest. 2nd was a 1967 Cougar. Then I found a Blue on blue 69 RoadRunner for $150 and drove it home , and its been all Mopar ever since. That was about late summer 1978. It was all jacked up with L60-15 Kelly super Chargers and it was fast and loud.
  16. Thanks all. I have to pick up some paint for the sidemarkers while I am out today. ( mine was dried up ) Weather is not coperating today so getting decent pics is tough .If by chance the sun comes out I will get a better picture of the grille . My plan is once his car is up and driving,,,I will make a copy of his license plates and add them then. And he hasnt decided on what kind of outside mirror yet on his car, so I will add one then . With any luck his will be on the street later this year .
  17. Well, after nearly 2 years sitting on the bench or in a box. I dug it out and finished it. This started out to be a replica of my brothers actual car. with 2 exceptions. My brothers car doesn't have the 340 badging in the stripe and his is a bench seat. Otherwise this is it . His Birthday is in about 6 weeks so this is another one I give away. Its painted Testors Plum Crazy straight out of the rattle can , Sem black for the interior . Chassis was left bare primer. The non 340 car Grille is a resin item I bought off of Ebay ( dont remember the seller ) Wheels, hubcaps and air cleaner are from my parts box. I decided to not get carried away with detailing as once he has it it'll never be out of the case. . Plus this was a test run for me to see who how the kit goes together and ck for issues . Comments good or bad more than welcome, I already know I need to find the master cylinder and upper rad hose. Thanks for looking Edit, Added a couple of front end pictures to show the non 340 grille..
  18. I'll use an airbrush ONLY when I cant get or find the color , or even anything close to what I want to use in a rattel can . But to be honest I've started walking down paint isles in most every store I go in . Walked down the paint isle in my local True Value hardware store few weeks back and found a couple of rattle can colors for some fifties cars I plan to use . Although on some of the older annuals i have,,,, the emblems are quite thin so an airbrush may be my only option to avoid burying them in paint and primer.
  19. Glad to see they did the correct A990 door panels
  20. I had heard paintng them silver then primer and paint works nice. I had also heard to use a primer / sealer then primer and paint works as well Time will tell. I want to do a couple Revell thunderbolts in white using the Gas Ronda car thats molded in orange ( got a bunch of them on hand )
  21. VERY VERY nice, love the color combo. I promised myself I wouldnt start a new kit till finish the half dozen or so kits in process .............But I REALLY want to do one of these
  22. Very cool. especially considering its all scratchbuilt
  23. I was in my local hobby shop this afternmoon. And this one was on my radar. sadely he didnt have one yet I want to see these tires ,, a friend of mine wants me to build a replica of his car ( early Corvette with Goldlines )
  24. Seeing what these original 1958 Annuals repeatedly sell for . I'll have to dis-agree with this statement . I have the 58 Imperial, 58 Ford Sunliner, 58 Bonneville and 1958 Buick ,,,,All convertibles . And I have considerably more then current kit prices in any one kit. My most recent one the 58 Buck I paid $65 for and feel like I got a screaming deal . I tried to get a 58 Impala and an 58 Edsel in the past week or so ,,,,, and both sold WELL above current kit prices.
  25. correct my mistake i ccompletely forgot about that. My disappointment is the fact these tires will be in the upcoming missle car will be completly wrong... I dont undestwnd tooling up all new tires that arent correct for the advertised kit in any way shape or form. if the roof remains unchanged will only make it worst.
