  1. I will turn back with some trivia. Know what happened with the 428 cobra jet on feb 14 1969? It is valve cover related... Prior to they were chrome steel. after they were aluminum Gotta love google http://www.428cobrajet.org/id-valvecover
  2. chrome valve covers on race hemi was 1964 and 1965 only. 1968 Hemi Darts and Barracudas were the same black valve cover as the street hemi just as a a bit of trivia , the valve covers off a 1964-65 will not fit on 1966 and later Hemi heads. http://racehemi.maxwedge.com/
  3. Craig, I belive there are/were decals to do 2 versions of the Chevy 2 ( one of which I used ) pm me an address. It has the decals to do the Javelin1 ( which I want to keep ) but will mail you the rest of the sheet , if u can use it fine, if not send it back Here is whats left on the sheet
  4. just ck'd and I have a partial sheet left over from when I did the car I could be talked out of
  5. Thanks . I've always been a diehard Mopar fan, but this thing kind of fell in my lap and was cheap enough I couldn't pass it up. Primary purpose is to fix and resell it but if I get stuck with it , it wouldnt break my heart to keep it a while as a play toy. 190 horse V6 and 5 spd is fun
  6. I've built a couple of the other variants of the kit, just not the C+H car. I have ZERO complaints and the only issue I would say was getting the ft of body to sit as low as I like them to , but even with that it builds into a really nice kit. Here is mine, built 100% box stock
  7. Thanks all, I am leaning towards leaving the car as a Hemi car, just not sure how to do it with the 65 RO hood scoop,,, or not This one has been built for a LOOOOONG time and I found out the paint scheme was wrong several years ago and it's bothered me ever since. I want to get something done before spring an 1/1 car show season starts back up . And I think this one is going to be at the top of the list. Basically it's just gonna be blow it apart, strip and repaint it ,,,,,re-assemble it then back in the case( at least thats my plan )
  8. Same car ? just different hood ? I am pretty sure if was in fact a 1969 , instead of an updated 1968 ( has 69 sidemarkers )
  9. The above model is about to come apart,it was built at least 20 years ago,,,( maybe more ) The white has yellowed and I want to make it a tad bit more accurate Here is what I plan to replicate. I just want to make sure it was a Hemi or 440 car.
  10. Just picked up my new daily driver 1998 Ford Contour SVT , this thing is a blast to drive.
  11. Just picked up a real clean NICE driving 1998 Ford Contour SVT. I've never been much of a ford guy, but this car is FUN
  12. Anyone able to verify something for me. question is,,,,back in the day,, was the 1969 S+M Roadrunner a 440 car or Hemi car ? I have a few different pictures of the car . one it has a 1965 scoop on it,, the other has a 1969 sixpack style scoop on it . But I can't find an underhood shot of the car anywhere I have a Johan builtup I did 20 plus years and I have been thinking about redoing as a quick simple type build
  13. IMO,,,, nothing produced in the last 20 years or so will ever get too the value that some of the older releases ever obtained in there prime
  14. Copper ext with copper interior looks pretty good as well ( friend of mine had a 1967 Coronet in that exact color combination )
  15. Mopar had 'suggested ' color combinations ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but nearly any interior / exterior color combination was avail
  16. Simple, I'm a gear head , always have been and always will be ( it's in my genes ) I like cars,,,,, especially drag cars of my youth . And I can't afford to own the fullsize versions( at least not all of them ) so 1/25th scale will simply,,,,,,,,,,,,,have to suffice.
  17. One of my favorites from the era. looks pretty good.
  18. The S+M 1970 Cuda did have stock ft bucket seats
  19. ps, I gotta ask. I looks as thought this build is 4 speed In the interior pics I have of this car it shows 4 speed pedals but appears to be an auto shifter . ??????
  20. OH my, OOOOOH my. Looking real good so far. I've got this exact same car on my short list to do
  21. Took the words right out of my mouth OMG,,,,,,, just doesn't seem sufficient
  22. Outside of the Dodge dealer sponsorship, I don't think Mopar had anything to do with Charlie Allens AFX Dart And as far as a factory built Hemi A body ,,there is no such thing. The closest one to factory built was the mule car and even it was built offsite in the skunkworks program
  23. I gotta agree here. Having been around mopars all my life. And just recently did a ground up restoration on a 1970 Hemi Cuda . The biggest complaint I have with the revell kit is too pronounced wheel lips ( they look too much like wheel flairs ) , weak tail light surround moulding ( easily recitied with strip stryene ,,not that I think I should have to on a new tool kit ) and the contorted body line above the rear wheel lips. ( not an easy fix imo ) Am I so dis-appointed with it that I'll send them back and hord my original MPC issues ? No But I am glad I hung on to my MPC issues Oddly enough,, no one has mentioned the windshield washer reservoir ( white plastic piece in the lower left corner of the engine compartment ) is incorrect for a 1970 E body. 1970 E bodies it whould be pretty square on top ,not have the rounded corner. Sorry, everyone is picking on this kit and being a life long die hard mopar nut I had to mention it,, as in the 1/1 world this would be considered blasphemey .
