AMT M&H Racemaster Dragster Slicks & Parts Pack Tires
gtx6970 replied to Gregg's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The 2 smaller tires I have no use for . the wheels I have very little use for. But if they had done a similar 4 set pack of the just the slicks as in other tire parts pack, I would be all over them at retail. so I am less than enthused with how they're packaged. That said , anyone that buys this set and doesn't want the blue streak slicks , pm me -
Best place to get a 65 Plymouth
gtx6970 replied to caine440's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I wish Speed City did one. I have both an MCW and a Spped City AFX Plymouth bodies. Althought the MCW versions is nice and I will definitly use it ,,,,but there is no comparison between the 2 companies. and btw, If your building the car I think your planning, don't you need a 2 door sedan ? -

Rattle Cans - who still uses them?
gtx6970 replied to tiking's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Even though I do own an airbrush. I use rattle cans almost exclusively. Although I have 2 builds planned for this fall that I think I may use an airbrush on, because it's a 3 color car. And I think I can control edge lines better and less chance of color bleed thru with an airbrush -
Yes, Johan is the one who made the 1963 Dodge back then How much an original sells for depends on who is looking at that particular time. They seem to sell pretty regularly in the $75 to $100(or more) range for a decent builder/builtup The one I bought a few months back was under $65 I think . The 1st one I have I paid $35 for, ( but thats been a while ) You just have to be patient deals do happen. The one and only piece I have from MCW is a resin 1965 Plymouth AFX car. But it is better than the R+R 1965 AFX Dodge I have Neither of then even come close to the quality of my 1965 Plymouth AFX from Speed City Resin

3 sources I know of ( all resin) Modelhaus. MCW and Jimmy Flintstone has one now I believe. I have not had any of them in my hand so I can't speak for quality of one over the other I have 2 originals( not for sale btw ) The 1st one I've had for years. 2nd one I just got a few months back on ebay. If your patient you can get Builtups ,, they pop up on ebay a semi regular basis .

Pro Stock chassic`s from the late 60`s to 80`s?
gtx6970 replied to John Pol's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Tube chassis cars didn't show up till sometime approx late 1972 or 1973 . so prior to that it would be a basically stock floorpan with maybe some aftermkt suspsension traction aids -

WOW, and I gotta add in here ,,,,The term ' Holy chit ' just doesn't quite seem to be sufficient -
Sorry, but nothing in this ' list ' nails it for me. Customs, , hot rods or street rods do anything for me I like style , character, and am a huge fan of late 50's to very early 60's fin cars and muscle cars . And early 60's to early 70's drag cars. primarily Stocks, Super Stocks, and funny cars I have zero interest in altereds, gassers . or much of anything race car wise newer than approx 1973 - 1974 time frame
-
I built this one long before the current box top edition . It's pretty close even though my build is not the car pictured on the box

Looks amazing. and as an fyi, On a 1955 Chrysler 300 - an outside rear view mirror was not avail either as standard or as an option

Probably one of my favorite pics I've ever taken

I'll take a set when they're ready . I've got several 73-74 MPC duster builders

I like it. Well done. I used to watch the show every day when I got home from school. It was one of my favorite shows I've got one of these kits to do i the near future

I didn't read the article attached BUT, I know the owner of the bird pictured and although I'm not 100% certain, I am pretty sure the car in question is NOT restored. Which would put the paint sometime in the 1970-1973 time frame. I do know the car has had some maint work done but don't think any of it was exterior paint related. I believe it's mostly been tires / brake / chassis / driveline maint / upkeep in the name of safety and reliability only. Current owner bought the car from the flipper that bought it directly from Ramo Stot .( aka original owner/driver) Ramo held on to the car, and instead of reskining it to a more modern body style as rules mandated back then . It remained in it's last race configuration. Which I believe was last raced in the early to mid 70's

VERY nice. I've had this one on my to do list for some time. I just can't get a break on buying a comet kit to start with .

Looking really good so far , keep it up. I'll have to keep an eye on this one. I have thought about building one of these as well as an early 250 GTO for myself
