  1. All depends on manufacturer . Put a Monogram 1970 GTX side by side with a Johan version. And the difference is very noticeable
  2. Anyone own one of these care to comment on quality I want one , maybe 2 1/25 3D printed resin 1967 Dodge D500 Car Hauler truck kit | eBay
  3. I was told years ago by someone who used to build AMT boxart kits The 1971 RR tooling was damaged Thus would never see the light of day again As to whether or not thats changed in the past 10-12 years, Ive no idea
  4. Interesting idea. I'll take a look, But I dont have one of the 68 Fury to part out , and they arent exactly cheap Might be easier / cheaper to just wait for the MCW resin body
  5. Heard back from MCW The 66 Belvedere sedan will back out soon. I can wait.
  6. Agreed I can see one of these kits in my future
  7. I have several of the Dodge kits . I'll take a look maybe later today,,,, but I think the rear glass shape is all wrong for the 66 I see MCW no longer shows the 66 Plymouth in a sedan. BUT they do show a 1966 Coronet.? So maybe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sent him a message this morning to ask
  8. Sedan glass is in fact taller More vertical on a 1/1. Not sure it would matter that much to me in a model car
  9. Wrong Year Thats a 1965 Plus has a completely different C pillar shape to make it work
  10. I have 3 of these so have decided to cut one loose Unbuilt - untouched BUT is missing the funky wingcar parts . otherwise 100% complete My interests are late 50s - early 60s Annuals builders Drag car kits, especially Mopar stuff No interests in motor cycles, No semis , no equipment or Implements stuff And to be honest I cant say there is anything currently avail Im willing to trade with
  11. I know someone used to make this body in resin But cant find it now or remember who made it And Ive gone down all kinds of Google searches to no avail Or, if I can come up with a reasonable facsimile of the rear roof section. I can maybe make my own Suggestions or ideas ? Im all ears
  12. Final update in process. Interior as well as all sub assemblies are done. Interior is painted with exact match color for the year of the car. Bench seat from harts Parts ( not dead nuts correct, But it will have to do ) Flocking for carpet, seat belts added shifter and dash mounted tach and its drive cable are from the spare parts bin One final dry test fit. to confirm how it sits. I had to remove the air cleaners. Hood didnt fit..and i dont want to cut a hole in the hood and add the RO style scoop. Im trying to replicate the car from early in its life. Next is push on to final assy , hopefully by the end of the week.
  13. I'll be following I have one of the high wing cars on my want to do list So keep pics and info coming please
  14. Looks killer
  15. Well The Hemi Is done. After breaking one of the linkage arms off the front carb. I decided its as done as far as Im willing to go . And Ive already gone so much farther with details than I normally do Throttle cab will attach to the firewall and the coil wire will attach to a coil mounted on the inner fender , to replicate the actual car.
  16. Thanks Stripped the chrome in a tank of Wesleys Bleche white Taped the pair of valve covers to a board, I set them out in the sun for a few minutes wto warm out, same for the rattle can Using VHT wrinkle black Laid a light dust coat on them for coverage I let that tack up for maybe 5 minutes Then 2 heavier coats with maybe 5 minutes between coats setting in the sun I use a hair dryer to kind of push the process along , it helps get the effect your after. Just don't get so close you melt the parts Once all assembled, I took a toothpick dipped in gloss black and touched up the boots and base of the wires right where they enter the valve cover to simulate the full size cars In 1/1 car parts world the heavier the better , so to speak. But you cant really do that on model car parts without burying the details There is a photoetch wire loom on the covers to replicate the stock OE Like so
  17. Came in Yesterday . Went right to work and got it mounted on the wall And its already half full,,,I might have to get another one next year But this one This makes my 4th NASCAR Diecast Model Car Display Case 24 Car 1/24 scale
  18. Inching closer and closer to the finish line Hopefully, by end of next week
  19. I had some time at the bench this morning. So I decided to try my hand at replicating the exhaust that was on this car Started with the exhaust from the Revell 1967 Coronet to get the correct turned down tail pipes. I cut the stock mufflers out and using some 5/32" round plastistruc tubing. Chucked the pieces up in my drill ,,,and Sanded the ends down a touch to get the shape. ( that worked better than I thought it would actually ) Super glued them in place and painted them bright red to look like old Cherry Bombs,,,as I can only assume thats what was on the car For an idea that was just rolling around in my head the past few weeks on HOW to do this. I think I can live with it
  20. Small yet very time consuming update Used a prewired dist. from Morgan Automotive Detail ( very nice btw ) Photo etch wiring looms is from Model Car garage Stripped the chrome valve covers and painted them VHT wrinkle black . Machined valve cover breather on drivers side is unknown source Added a PCV valve line to pass side VC , It will connect the base of the rear carb once its on Then spent the better part of 3 hours or so getting the ignition wired up, and I had to do it the correct firing order. Good thing I have a lighted desk top magnifier. My eyes simply are not what they used to be Using the December 1967 Issue of SSDI to get the details right
  21. Thanks, I stand corrected its hell to get old But this is the same kit I built as a kid. Would like to have another one, Only something closer to same scale as everything else thats in the case
  22. Looking good I had an original I sold maybe 2 years ago. Ive been thinking about one of these reissues and build this very car T
  23. Looking at this one. It kinda sorta looks like the old Monogram kit from my youth. ( I built one of them back in the day ,,,. But the car is huge compared to anything else I have) Just smaller scale Anyone thats built this kit, care to chime in with details please
  24. Ive had the Monogram kit but its 1/20th scale Im interested in a similar ( not necessarily that exact version) But in 1.25th scale What are my options I have my eye on an accurate miniatures kit , But its $60 plus postage . Puts it above where I would prefer to pay
