  1. Looks cool. If you couldn't tell by my avatar, I love the old GM vans. Mine is a lot smaller than this one would be in real life, but I love the ideas you have so far.
  2. Where did you get those wheels? I need a set similar for a build I have in mind.
  3. That's scary. And, um, what exactly is "Krome"? Here I thought AMT made bad mistakes on the box (Radiator Sheelr from 29 Model A comes to mind).
  4. Beautiful! It was nice when it was just the body, but those wheels finish the look!
  5. Heck yeah Jake! I know it isn't an accurate Ohio truck (It still has cab corners and bed sides ) but i'm pretty happy with the outcome. The camera made it look worse than it does in real life .
  6. Cool. I fell for this thing the very first time I drove it. I had the option between this or my mom's 2001 Buick Century. One or the other went to my dad. Due to the handling of the Astro vs. the Buick, along with gas mileage (Astro is worse, but my dad drives farther than I do for work), I chose the Astro.
  7. Well, here's mine once I get my license. 1990 Chevy Astro. It has the original 238,000 mile 4.3 V6, the head gaskets were replaced in October 2013. Since these pictures, the rockers have been replaced along with the interior gutted, cleaned, and reassembled. Along with the carpet and headliner replaced. I'll post some pics of interior when the weather is better, along with an update shot of the whole van revamped. I was literally brought home from the hospital as a newborn in this old girl. 1st picture from Head Gasket Rebuild 2nd picture is the front/ ride side 3rd picture is my old rockers/ sliding door, which were duct tape patched at that time Then this picture is the old interior. It looks way better now. That's it for now. There are more pictures over in my Photobucket in the Astro album.
  8. Thanks guys. It was a quick build during the Daytona 500 today.
  9. This is the final result of this build. The paint is Dupli-color Gloss Black Acrylic Enamel with Krylon Metallic silver for anything silver. The frame/chassis is airbrushed. The body was at one point airbrushed, but it didn't turn out very good. Everything engine related from the intake up was from a Monogram GM NASCAR. The decals are a mixture from a bunch of kits. The CB antenna is from Roscoe's Monaco and the Radio antenna is a piece of stretched parts tree. The mirrors are from a Monogram F-250. Cowl hood is made from an MPC 69 Charger gas tank, flipped and filled in. The visor was pirated from a Dodge Monster Truck Diecast. The toolbox is solid wood. The exhaust is Evergreen tubing with Mufflers made from a wooden dowel rod.The wheels and all 4X4 parts are from Revell's 77 GMC. Base kit was the USA-1 Monster Truck. The rear window has real window tin on the inside. I still need to print my shop decals for it, which will involve me getting white decal paper. I don't know why the side picture made it look like it sits like it's a gasser. It doesn't sit that way in real life. All comments, good or bad, are welcomed. Thanks for looking.
  10. This is the old Monogram snap kit that is no longer marked as such. I painted and built everything on this except for the body today. My dad painted the body with Deltron Gunmetal Poly a good while back. The wheels are from the Revell/Monogram 37 Ford Sedan. They fit the tires from the kit with very little modifying. Any comments, good or bad are welcomed. Thanks for looking.
  11. Real window tint works quite good. I just used it on a 88 K2500 I built and haven't yet posted. I'll post some pics of the window here when I do.
  12. Heck yes! I see trucks around here that you can look through one bedside and see out the other. This old truck is pretty "rust free" by Ohio standards on these trucks.
  13. Very realistic! Both my Grandpa's 74 Chevy & 86 Chevy have the exact same rust pattern.
  14. One of my favorite's is from the first new Transformers movie. The one from 2007 I think. In the beginning of the moive when Bumblebee is still the 77 Camaro.Megan Fox's character pops the hood and calls the engine "fuel injected". Unless it was a throttle body setup , which seems like an unlikely "swap" on a 77 Camaro, there is no way that Bumblebee was fuel injected. Here's a video, not from the movie, and of crappy quality, but there doesn't see to be one from that scene. This shows the "fuel injection" Bumblebee so clearly had.
  15. I'm thinking wheezy little Civic with a Fart can... That made me sick to my stomach. Yuck.
  16. I wonder if he thought it would give him more horsepower and speed... Some people just plain concern me...This dude is one of those people...
  17. So Joe where are the keys at for this one? Or your shrink ray? Just kidding, looks great!
  18. Thanks for the comments guys. Al, I custom made it and re-sized it. This is the site I used, but there are also plate blanks available and Acme License maker has some newer plate blanks, too.
