  1. Very nice, only thing is that I think that body style of Dodge didn't start until 1994. My neighbor has a 93 and it's the old body style. Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong I'm sure. Great looking wrecker nonetheless!
  2. Very cool! Apparently MPC did a Dodge van back in the 70s with a 32 Ford decal on the side. I saw it on Ebay the other night.
  3. Now that is awesome! Everything about it is perfect.
  4. Oh well then I was wrong. I was hoping I wasn't one of the only members on here with a 3d Printer. lol
  5. I spy 3d Printed parts in there..... Spill it! Just kidding of course. Looks great so far!
  6. Loving the story so far! I was kind wondering when the next installment of McNally was coming. lol
  7. Leave it! It looks wicked like that! Fix the roof up with a new vinyl top and make it all new up underneath and inside! It looks awesome like that in my humble opinion. Of course it's not mine so do whatever you like, but I love the look of it.
  8. Everybody's looks great so far. I've started on the 330, but I have been busy with school and work, along with building an engine for my 90 Astro, so I've not touched the workbench for probably 3 weeks. Last thing I remember doing was starting the roll cage and screwing up the front suspension. Once the van is finished I should have some bench time.
  9. Loving this! It has a perfect, aggressive look to it. If it were real I'd drive it every day! Great work!
  10. I seriously need to get a spool of ABS filament. PLA is sandable, but like you said it is a rock.
  11. Awesome! I'm glad I'm not the only person on here who has been using a 3d printer for model parts. Yours are a whole lot better quality than mine though.
  12. There was a Challenger in that first pic?! Good grief!
  13. Thanks Rodney. I stared at pictures online for a millennia to finally get it right. Just kinda eyeballed the dimensions. lol Thanks Carl. Thanks Joe. His response made the last minute effort (literally the night before) to finish the utility bed worth it. I've noticed that myself about very few models having utility beds. My next modern(ish) truck build (after an ongoing camper and a ramp truck I have currently) I think I'm going to build a replacement service truck for my shop diorama. I think a utility bed on the back of an 88-98 Chevy 1 ton would be quite the workhorse. That won't be for quite awhile though. Need to finish some others first. lol
  14. First off if this should be in the diecast section feel free to move it. This truck is a replica of the last truck that my grandpa bought brand new. It was a 1972 Chevy Cheyenne. He used the truck when he owned a local Texaco station. He swapped the stock bed for a Reading utility body about 5 years after buying it. He drove it for a millennia, until the frame rusted completely in half with it sitting in the driveway. I vaguely remember the truck, which sat in the driveway until I was about 4. It was then hauled away by a local junkyard. Fast forward about 15 years, I was walking the same junkyard that bought the truck while looking for parts fro my van, when lo and behold I spot a black 67-72 Chevy cab. I thought that there was no way, until I got up close. Everything about the truck matched Pap's description. I knew it had to be his. After taking a few pictures to him he confirmed it most certainly was his. About a year later, I was cleaning my room when I came across an old, beat up Jada diecast of a 1/24 scale 72 Chevy. I decided to redo it into his truck. The utility bed is scratch built from Styrene sheet. The step bumper was 3D printed. The frame had to be extended in order to be a LWB like his truck, rather than the SWB like the diecast was. I've included a few pictures of the remains of the 1:1. It has since left that particular spot from the junkyard, whether it was sold or crushed I do not know. I gave it to pap for his birthday this year, and the look on his face was priceless. Thanks for looking. Any and all comments welcome.
  15. Ok I'm officially going with the 64 Dodge 330 with a Dodge Sidewinder for a donor. The 3D printer will also serve as a donor. I'm going to see if I can finish the F-1 from last year as well. I've included a few pictures of how far it went. The front suspension really hung me up with it. If the part is black it's 3D printed, either from a design of my own or a design from the internet. If you have any questions let me know.
  16. Yes!! I'd love to find a stock version of an 88-98 Chevy or a 92-96 Ford for less than $50. I'd also like to see the 72 Chevy make a return. Those get pretty scary on eBay.
  17. I know I'm going to try to finish the F-1 Trophy truck from last year, and I want to do an additional build for the 2017 CBP alone. I've got a few ideas. I'm thinking a NASCAR truck with street spec parts. Or maybe something like the Roadkill Nascarlo. Or maybe a 64 Dodge 330 Pro-Touring with a V-10 and a suspension from a Dodge Sidewinder... Choices...
  18. What type of 3D printer are you using? I've been toying with a Hictop 3DP11 That my brother got me for a graduation present last May. So far I've not designed too awful much, mainly due to my computer not having enough CPU to run any CAD programs besides Autodesk 123D. I have made a few parts though. I really should post up some pictures on here. Maybe this Thursday if I get a little time. I only ask because my prints normally end up a lot smoother than what you're showing, unless something is loose somewhere. Your work is incredible and I was curious as to how expensive of a printer you are using. Mine was about $350 for the DIY kit. Was yours pre-assembled or did you build it from a kit? The car looks beautiful so far.
