Thank you Michael, yes, I used that picture as it was the first one to come up on google. I just needed the nose. You know, when you spend a lot of time online helping people find the info they need sometimes you take a shortcut...okay? Trust me, had the question been "How do I turn my GL kit into a Daytona, much different pics would have been used. As for the body mods on a GL to make a Bird, I would LOVE to see it done. To me though...you may as well cover the whole thing with bondo and carve it out from scratch, but if the OP can do it, cool!

As long as she doesn't become a divorce lawyer i'm behind her a thousand percent!

The nose clip would be the easiest mod. The Daytona's nose is smooth across the top and the grille is located at the leading edge. The Superbird has a splitter that is a continuation of the hoods central ridge and the grille is under the nose. Here's a couple reference pics.

I expected something different, but that's not a bad looking bike. I'm sorry that happened to you Niko. I myself have little use for the human race at large...because they do stuff like this. I hope the insurance does you right.

Terry, This is terrible news. I will certainly be praying for you and your family. You can beat this.

It is for the 1969 Charger kit. The only parts are the nose cone, wing and fender scoops. Again, the nose and wing on the Superbird are different and to do a bird in 16th scale you would need a Roadrunner body to modify. I'm not at liberty to say anything more right now, other than somebody out there IS working on alternative bodies for the 1/16th Petty kit.

Sage words indeed friend. Sometimes you can love a person with all your heart but eventually realise they are no good for you. As long as I cut out cooking nearly everything with bacon grease I should heal up fine. Unfortunately I learned to cook with bacon grease from my mom...who has had two heart attacks and four bypasses. I guess that was a pretty big hint huh?

Although he has yet to get to the nose kit itself, there's a build using one going on here... http://magnummodelsmoparforum.yuku.com/topic/12/116th-scale-PROSTREET-Daytona-Charger?page=1 And a review of the parts here... http://magnummodelsmoparforum.yuku.com/topic/40/Resin-Wing-Kit He will be modifying and building a 73 style Charger with the Daytona kit.

Additional- Thank you to all my friends who responded in P.M. as well.

I want to start by thanking everyone for thier support. After the past two weeks I needed to see all this support. The following is an edited copy of what i've been through, pasted from my own site so as to avoid having to write it a dozen times. I'm back ...and I have been through a ringer. Allow me to start by saying sometimes clarity doesn't come until the initial shock fades. With that said I misunderstood. He was not hit by a cement mixer as I previously thought. He was struck by an F-150 with a portable mixer in it's bed. Sadly my family is a bit of a mess from before this so misinformation from multiple sources was bound to happen. I should have kept that to myself until I knew all the facts. There were seven of us kids in the family. Three boys and four girls. Our youngest brother, who has had almost zero to do with the family since we found him (adoption is a bear!) never even showed up. That was the first thing that upset me and my depression was already getting the better of me. My sisters, instead of having a normal service and connecting with everyone as I had hoped, was not going to happen since they were more interested in staying in the reception room and arguing over who was getting what from his things. REALLY!? He litterally was not even in the ground yet! They found out the hard way they got nothing anyway. The seven of us at one time were all adopted out. Three of the girls were adopted by different relatives and grew up across the street from each other being told they were cousins. This obviously made them bitter beyond belief. Any two of us could get along at any given time, but add a third or fourth and it always ended up with shouting and epithets. Why I thought any of them could get along long enough to get through one of our funerals is beyond me, but i'm the hopefull type. When we all had our big reunion back around 2001, alot of pretty speeches were made about, "we all grew up different", "we all have to get used to and accept each other"...that kind of stuff. Let me tell you, you can't BUY that brand of fertilizer! So after trying unsuccesfully to get them together and be a family for over a decade, I gave up. Why tell you all this? Because of what happened next. I was so incensed with them that the moment the funeral was over, I laid into the four of them, letting them know what kind of insensitive, sociopathic harpies they were. My blood pressure shot to the sky, and I blacked out. I awoke in the hospital with an assortment of tubes and wires in me and although stress from the situation was the cause, they decided to stress me out more by telling me right away, "You've had a cardiac incident." An "incident?" What the heck does THAT mean? They explained I would be okay and asked if my family could come in to see me. Like an idiot I said yes. Two minutes. That's all it took for them to start arguing again, right there in my hospital room! So, rather than just my older brother, I lost my entire natural family this week. I told them that if they couldn't get along after PUTTING ME in the hospital during our brother's funeral, it would never happen. I lived many years without knowing they existed and I hope to live many more after, so I have washed my hands of them. I now have to try and reduce my cholesterol and i'm taking blood pressure pills so once again I find myself recuperating. Alot of guys have been waiting for stuff and i'm sorry this has happened. I will be getting stuff together and shipping out as I can in the next few days. Thanks to all for your kind words and patience. I just want to get back to my miniature world. I know I am usually the bigger proponent of family and family values and i'm reaching the age where I probably shouldn't go around alienating the family I have left, but when there's nowhere else to go, and your healthbecomes an issue what do you do? Please don't think too terribly bad of me for turning my back on them. Believe me, they deserve it. The only one of them who didn't, is gone now.

I was told his accident was last night but it was early this morning. My older brother was struck nearly head on by a concrete truck. He was revived at the scene and transported to the hospital. Unfortunately his injuries were too severe and he passed away earlier today. I will be away for the next few days.

Make sure to watch "Macon County Line" first. Written, directed and starred in as the sheriff, by none other than Jethro Bodine himself, Max Baer jr.

Isn't "karaoke" japanese for tone deaf?

just ruined my paint with clear?
MAGNUM4342 replied to DrewCfromSC's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Sounds to me as if the spay nozzle were clogged. Paint could have leaked up under the spray button and caused a bit of blockage that will cause this. Try a spray button from another fresh can. If that doesn't cure the issue theres a clog in the valve that allows paint into the spray button. Also- room temperature isn't always adequate. I always warm my spray cans under some warm running water for a couple minutes. It always helps the flow. -
Don't take me wrong on this one. I'm not agame or gamer hater. I just have a difficult time wrapping my head around why there would be a thread devoted to gamers in a model car forum.

16th scale NASCAR hood pins

Diecastdeluxe only has the lanyards and Pro-tech doesn't have anything for me. -
Honestly, I think there are too many pinned subjects in some topics. Some of them could stand to be deleted as they are now moot. Like the "Don't answer mail from the forum". "Forum shutdown" and "Gamers". Really?! Gamers? Are there NO gaming forums at all?
-
Just like the "clearcoating race cars" thread. That topic comes up three to four time a year, and will continue to come up. I try to give my fair two cents when it does...but it does get exasperating at times.
-
To all the Whiney-the-pooh's who complain about the number of topics- What's the problem? If you are sitting around on your computer, looking at websites then you obviously have some time to kill so why not look for the appropriate spot? So many people complaining about wasted time and sore thumbs because "WAH! I don't want to scroll down the page to the right spot wah!" If your time is that precious then why are you here? Why do you build models? I find them quite time consuming as an activity so why? If you don't have the time to look down the page but you have all the time in the world to complain about it, get out. Leave and go bother some other website with your petty whining and complaints about how they should have built the site around you!
-
And again my point is proven by the number of people in THIS VERY THREAD that ignore the no swearing rule!

So get to work and fix it.

I have applied Alclad over enamels like Testors classic black with no ill effects. The main reason for spraying the black basecoat is that best results are achieved in spraying the Alclad over a still tacky surface. This helps the Alclad bond to it's basecoat. When sprayed over a dry basecoat the Alclad has difficulty in adhering to the surface and will rub off with handling. Not so when sprayed over a tacky coat. Here is a great tutorial Gregg put together on using Alclad. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=62627

HEY! There's no birthday party for me in here!
