  1. Thanks for the response, Snake. Any tips about corners? Some are almost square while others are rounded.
  2. So, no one knows how to do this?
  3. Oh, dimensions are 2' deep, 3' wide and 3' tall.
  4. Initially, I had about $230, but the modifications I've made have added to the price. Probably around $300, I guess. Some of the things I've done is add much, much, much more lighting and enlarging the door. I'll post some more pics and a description.
  5. I'd like to build one of these sometime. I really like the work you did, but then, it's what we expect when you're the builder. You don't disappoint. Excellent!
  6. Considering your situation, Jeff, the cake cover thingie is probably perfect for you. Cheap too! As for a paint booth, are you really using an enclosure or just one of the exhaust fan systems that many folks call a booth? To me, a booth is an enclosure with some sort of control over air flow, filtration and exhaust. Here's a pic of it originally. I've made several modifications to it since I first built it. I'll post some pics sometime.
  7. +1, Jeff! Bill usually has the answer for almost any question and he's usually one of the first to respond with help. I've learned a lot from him.
  8. I've got two in line filters to keep the air clean and dry.
  9. I spray in a spray booth I constructed. I spray them with 80% water and 20% isopropyl alcohol and blow them dry with compressed air.
  10. There are plenty of tutorials on scribing existing panel lines. I'd like to try some custom models and would need to create panel lines. Anyone know of any tutorials?
  11. Where did you get it?
  12. I'd pay a reasonable subscription fee in a heartbeat. I've been a member here since 5/29/12 and the amount of knowledge I've gained as well as the camaraderie with fellow builders is invaluable.
  13. That's a dark future. I've tried other forums and this is the best laid out site with lots of good administrators and members. I hope it endures.
  14. Just ordered a pound. Any suggestions on handling this stuff? I can use my spray booth for handling and working with it. How do you store it? Looks like it will come in a plastic bag. I'd think something more substantial would be a good idea. Does it pick up a static charge?
  15. Great job! Especially the door seams and roof lines. I don't think I'll ever get that hobby skill, but I'll keep trying.
  16. OK everyone, now that you've convinced me to try this stuff, where can you get it? I can just see me walking into Lowes and asking where they keep the micro balloons.
  17. I use the polishing cloths and then Novus to bring out the shine. This method can cover us some pretty marginal painting techniques. Trust me, I know.
  18. What sort of airbrush are you using?
  19. I always take everything off the sprues and sort them by color. Like David said above, assemble common color parts such as engine assemblies, axles, etc. I use several pieces of short 2 x 4 with holes drilled in them to hold skewers or alligator clip holders with parts. Moving them in and out of my spray booth is much easier. For holding parts for painting, I also use Scotch double sided foam tape. Stick one side to a wooden skewer and the part to the other side. Works great.
  20. I like mine and but now I use it mostly on non-body parts. Even with the #5 tip in the Paasche H, I still get tiger stripes on bodies. I use a Procon PS-290 to shoot bodies. Still learning to use it. The H is a good A/B and I've painted lots of stuff with it.
  21. My orders usually take 5 to 7 days. I think they're near Atlanta, GA (not sure) and I'm only about 100 miles away.
  22. What air pressure did you find that worked best?
