  1. Do a search for bilge blower on eBay. I used a 135 cfm unit but changed to a 170cfm unit recently.
  2. My Classic Car, Jay Leno's Garage, Chasing Classic Cars
  3. You lucked out!
  4. If you want to save some money, here are my suggestions. Airbrush: Paasche H Simple, cheap and does a great job. About $40 to $60 Compressor: Go to Harbor Freight and buy a decent one for around $100. While there, pick up their airbrush cleaner brush set and their spray out pot. Look for coupons. For cleaning, I use lacquer thinner (Walmart, 1 gallon about $15) for lacquers and enamels or 91% isopropyl alcohol (Walmart, about $3) for acrylics. You'll need to decide what type of paint you're going to use. If fumes are an issue, you'll probably be using acrylics. I'm using Createx right now and like it.
  5. Did that, summer 2016.
  6. That's a good idea. I'll have to try that on the next build. At the present, using Createx products, I don't use primer.
  7. It just gives me fits sometimes. I guess I'm asking an impossible question to answer and at the same time, looking for an easy explanation. After I've done all my calculations, I'll come up with a fool proof, works in all applications, easy formula.
  8. I wonder if Harbor Freight has calibrated eyeballs? Mine are 74 years old and out of calibration. I get your drift, Nick. Experience.
  9. Beautiful! The color choices, especially the interior, are excellent.
  10. You've got everything on the body prepped and ready to paint. Everything fits nicely together as far as gaps between hoods and bodies or any panel and the body. Then you paint it and it looks great. You've been trying your darndest not to build up too much paint but when it's all done, nothing fits like it should because of the build up of paint on all of the adjoining areas. How do builders figure out how much extra to remove to ensure that the painted and finished part fits during assembly without taking too much off and leaving noticeable gaps?
  11. Did you use the kit decals or an aftermarket?

    Ford gt 40

Great build! I love those 40s.
  13. That's looking pretty close. Now I have to decide how much I'm willing to spend on a kit, just for the wheels. That's provided that I can't find a set for trade. Anyone?
  14. Too wide. I'm sending them an email to see if they have 13 x 6 wheels.
  15. Anyone know a source for 1/24 13" minilite wheels and tires like these.
  16. You'd have to be completely insane to drive that thing. I saw a hemi in a Metropolitan once. Another widow maker.
  17. They were widow makers for sure. That Fiat almost looks like it has a blown nail head Buick but I guess it's just old eyes.
  18. That's a lot for that upgrade. I bought the reissued double kit with the Alfa and Talbot Lago. I messed up an Alfa a few years back and bought them to replace it.
  19. About all that I do with spoons is compare colors after shooting.
  20. I'd be interested in seeing that video.
  21. I second Casey's suggestion. I've saved some pretty marginal paint jobs with polishing.
  22. I'm starting to use the Createx line and I've found that staying with their products seems to work with the balancing clear and reducers. So far, I've been spraying lacquer clear over them but I plan to try their clears. I've tried Future and now only use it to clear coat windows. I suggest using the Createx clear. https://createxcolors.com/airbrush-colors/reducers-clears/5620.html
  23. Right now, it's the best to you so that counts in my book.
  24. We had a 99 Sport 4 door with the same option except the spare. My wife loved it. I was towing a Formula Ford at the time and it worked OK but we needed 4WD so I traded it for a Durango. Big mistake! I still see it some around here. Chili Pepper Red, still sharp.
