  1. Actually, the OP mentioned model paint. I was just asking a clarifying question. Sorry for the confusion.
  2. But it's enamel. Got a suggestion for lacquers.
  3. I made a fixture to hold my variable speed Dremel. The stirrer is a short piece of coat hanger bent 90 degrees at the end and flattened a bit. Works like a charm, no sitting there holding it, and cost pennies if you have some scrap wood.
  4. That feature has me wondering if they have a Tamiya equivalent nozzle? I called my local art supply store and they said $10.95 for an 11 oz. can. Going to try and get something real close to Gulf blue and give the stuff a try. The local carries the Gold and Black series.
  5. I might ride over there tomorrow and I'll let you know what I found out. The store is in the Hamilton Place area. ART CREATIONS7351 COMMONS BLVD 37421 CHATTANOOGA, United States
  6. Just found one store in the Chattanooga, TN area that does carry the Montana Gold and Black series paints. Headed there soon to check the prices and see if they have a good substitute for Gulf blue. I wish the local Michael's carried them. That 40% off coupon is nice.
  7. Their names are in the credits. I'll have to watch the next one and see what their roles are.
  8. We're watching it too! Great show, but then anything the Coen brothers are involved in is usually great.
  9. There's very little room for error on the Isle of Man. Never did race bikes on pavement. Just didn't have the nerve.
  10. Fearless or insane, one or the other. But if you love bikes, you've got to watch some of it. Unbelievable!
  11. Looks interesting! I checked the location finder and there are some locally. Supposedly, Michaels carries them.
  12. Here's the best way to search, thanks to Bill Engwer. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/74605-a-better-way-to-search-this-site/
  13. Thanks, Scott and Billy!
  14. Here's what I came up with. It's gone through several modifications. I don't use the gloves on the front any more.
  15. Lots of truth there Bill, but I think your observation doesn't include the destructive effects that political interests from one party are using to dismantle the USPS and privatize it. Always. Follow. The. Money.
  16. All of these routes are due to cuts in manpower and resources. This includes cutting the number of sorting facilities which means some stuff takes strange routes. They shut the one here in Chattanooga down and now mail that goes down the street has to go almost to Atlanta, GA to be sorted. They also have many other ridiculous requirements such as funding their entire healthcare requirements for their present and future employees for the next 75 years. Some politicians are doing everything they can to bankrupt and shut the USPS down.
  17. That's how I do it. Let the white dry real good, mask it off (I use 3M vinyl automotive fine line), lightly sand down any orange peal where you feathered the white, clean it up and shoot the blue.
  18. I bought a chuck that would fit into an electric screwdriver some time back hoping that would provide a better method drilling. It worked OK but didn't run fast enough. I had been to Harbor Freight recently and bought a 18 volt drill. https://www.harborfreight.com/18-Volt-38-in-Cordless-DrillDriver-With-Keyless-Chuck-21-Clutch-Settings-69651.html What I really like about this drill is the nice progressive feel of the drill. A little pressure and it rotated slowly. A little more pressure and it speeds up without a huge jump in RPMs. Very controllable. No affiliation or financial interest. I bought the drill/light combo but the drill alone is on sale with a Harbor Freight coupon for $16.99. The light works pretty good too.
  19. I'm still not sure what size to buy. Anyone got suggestions? I plan to use it to repair sprue attachment points and areas that need a little cleaning up.
  20. Love them! I had a 71 with a 2.0 that I autocrossed. It was a blast. I'd hoped to finish the BRE 510 that's on the workbench but it's going to take a few more hours. Maybe done by the weekend. Here's a shot I took yesterday before putting on the bumpers. Windows and decals and it's done.
  21. Thanks, Michael!
  22. Where'd you get the wheels/tires?
  23. That may be an issue with HF filters. To use them, looks like you'll have to pour the paint through the filter while holding the filter sideways. Otherwise, there's some waste in the bottom of the filter. How many did you get for $8?
