  1. I agree with Rob. It takes patience, time and practice.
  2. Love the color choices. My first car that I bought was a 61 Chevy Impala 2 door hardtop, black outside and red inside. Some day I'll finish the scale version. Beautiful work! What did you use as an adhesive for the homemade BMF?
  3. That's one beautiful 53! My Uncle Roy had a 53 and we rode from Chattanooga, TN to Travelers Rest, SC. in 1956.
  4. I quit trying to live up to any examples on this forum because it's fruitless. I'm simply incapable of doing all the intricate detail work and superior execution that I see here. They make beautiful models but I just prefer to build to my own standards. Not show stuff, just decently finished. I sure get a lot of ideas here as well as excellent advice.
  5. Nice work! My best friend, Tommy Ransom, was the floor/production manager for Choo Choo Customs here in Chattanooga for many years.
  6. I think he means a scale of 3/4", not the actual size. I think.
  7. Well, at least you got them back and they didn't wind up in the landfill somewhere.
  8. For the color, use Tamiya Camel Yellow lacquer. It's really close. I've got that one in my stash and will be following your build
  9. That engine!!!!!!!!! This looks a lot like the Fiat racer Jay Leno featured on a recent My Classic Car episode. As usual, superlative work.
  10. My Classic Car followed by Jay Leno's Garage. Mecum has the best auctions. Barrett Jackson is not as good as it used to be. Too many side features and not enough cars.
  11. I like it, but then I always like unique, creative ideas like this.
  12. Here's a couple of links I saved.
  13. Thanks for the quick response. I like it simple too. I'll be buying some of this to try.
  14. Harry, you may have answered this before but do you spray the Spaz Stix out of the can or decant and A/B? What primer and gloss black brands do you use? Do you shoot the primer and gloss black out of the can or decant and A/B? TIA!
  15. Great job! I love WRC. I wish they would show more of it on TV here in the states.
  16. That's pretty much what I thought. Thanks, guys!
  17. Can someone tell me the difference between semi-gloss and satin finishes and the difference between flat and matt finishes.
  18. Nice! Where did you get the seat belts?
  19. I've always liked the Torquethrust (sp?) but they seem to work (for me) on cars that are more traditional. Your Vette is not traditional. It's a custom and I'd go with the top ones in the 3 pic post. Those in the one pic post look like they're off my wife's CRV.
  20. Ray, are you airbrushing it or spraying it right out of the can? I bought a big can of it at Walmart today for $3.97.
  21. Aclever idea for a cool custom. I'm liking it already!
  22. Another method http://modeltech.tripod.com/tint101.htm
  23. Art, are you using it out of the can or airbrushing it?
  24. This is the quote from the Scalefinishes website. "Scalefinishes colors are solvent based Acrylic Basecoats and require a clearcoat to achieve a gloss finish". If they're enamels, spraying lacquer clear over them won't yield good results. I've heard that TS13 is a little hot in relation to other hobby lacquer sprays.
