Go get some Glad Press and Seal. Remove the cap and clean the lid and bottle top. Cut a small piece of the Press and Seal and cover the opening. Screw the cap back on. You'll never have a problem with stuck lids again.

I've heard of using a pencil eraser and almost dry paint and blotting the letters. Does anyone have any other techniques they use to paint letters and insignia on tire sidewalls?

Get a Paasche H with the #3 or #5 tip.

Everyone has an opinion on airbrushes. I started with a Badger Patrior 105. Retails for over $100 but I got it for $45. I figured it must be THE airbrush for me. I had moderate success with it. After much reading I bought a Paasche H siphon feed and love it. Simple, easy to clean and inexpensive and works great.

I can't afford to buy my wife a 1 : 1 so I built her a scale model. She picked the color and wheels. Still learning on the BMF.

You'll probably need to thin your paint. Practice on some old bodies or spray a plastic for sale sign.

I'm following with interest, Jim. I've tried using home made BMF with mixed results. The foil I used was chrome wrapping paper from Party City. Enough to last a life time for $5. It worked fairly well but the only thing I wasn't happy about was the adhesive I used. Here's what I used: http://www.hobbylobby.com/p/6272 It had a little too much sticky to it. Maybe I used too much but it was tough to get it off the areas adjacent to the chrome. Pulled some paint loose in one area.
