fseva Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Gorgeous! Beautiful paint job - almost looks like "black chrome" when the light hits it from the side. I may have to buy one - sure do hope I can before Modelhaus calls it quits...
Skip Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Xcellent, with a big old X as in Xtra special. I've always loved the Cheetahs. I remember drooling over them in Hot Rod, then there was the article in Rod & Custom, where Don Emmons combined a Cox Cheetah slot car body, Corvette engine and transmission and I think an AMT Mercedes Gull Wing chassis it was a true Don Emmons conversion as in beautiful! Kit bashing before there was a word for it. Now back to the present, your Cheetah captures the look and feel of the real Cheetah, thumbs up to Modelhaus for putting it into kit form. Great paint by the way, don't believe I've seen one in black, when I picture one in my mind's eye I always see the more common Red.
horsepower Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Nice, kind of coincidental, just watched a Gearz show on MavTV where they're building a new Evolution Cheetah kit car. It looks nicer and better engineered than the originals.
Twokidsnosleep Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Agree with everyone else, that is an awesome build!! What a cool body shape Well made

The Modelhaus website said the body of this resin kit was made from the Cox Cheetah slot car. As for it being painted black, well that goes all the way back to the 1960s when I was in to slot cars and my mate had a black Cox Cheetah slot car. I couldn't afford to buy one of my own back in the day but I'd never stopped drooling over that black Cheetah.

Brudda Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 If chevy would have backed jim hall and bill thomas ,history might have been different.Great build.keep the cheetah alive!!!!

Roncla Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 Absolutely superb model, Ron! This car is a monster - but a very impressive and intimidating one! Looks almost like the real thing - how much does this kit cost??? By memory the kit cost around $80. The Modelhaus has a website but its currently down due to a family bereavement. http://modelhaus.com/maintenance.html
