johnbuzzed Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Indeed, this was at a local car show... ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// ">http://http://s889.photobucket.com/user/jbuzz710/media/Seen%20at%20a%20car%20show/CAM00415.jpg.html'>
Atmobil Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Yes, why not. That is all you really need, a chassis with suspension and engine and drivetrain and functioning steering, brakes and lights with some seats. Perfect transport as long as the weather is nice.
Mark Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 At least it's not an HHR with pinstriping and peel-and-stick portholes...
John Goschke Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 We certainly see a lot of garbage in the car hobby! I suspect the concept behind this piece, like many others, was fueled by beer in quantity.
christian-w Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I approve of the "clean carfax" bumper sticker... Me too - I was laughing as I read it.
johnbuzzed Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 Might be a good use for one of those early Revell tri 5 Chevys... hmm....
Crazy Ed Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I'm with you Ray. If they're 15"ers I'd trade my Ralleys off my Elkie for 'em.
Fat Brian Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I was confused until I saw the Souith Carolina plate and then it all made sense.
jbwelda Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 looks more genuine than your typical billet encrusted "hot rod" you see so much of today also notice it seems to draw a crowd. jb
blunc Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 The first thing that came to my mind was a Beatles song... "Help" As in, "Help, I need some body, not just any body."
lordairgtar Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 (edited) At least it's not an HHR with pinstriping and peel-and-stick portholes... Hey! I resemble that remark...well not the stick on portholes anyway. https://scontent-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/v/t1.0-9/1012701_487017404723064_1369341289_n.jpg?oh=b4e25c9238fc046b232eebdf5f4d1774&oe=55DD8103[img/] Edited May 5, 2015 by lordairgtar
unclescott58 Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I was confused until I saw the Souith Carolina plate and then it all made sense. Hey we're just as nuts up here in Minnesota too! I like it. Looks like fun. Scott
ChrisBcritter Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Inspiration: "Wife told me to clean out the garage, but I didn't want to throw anything away, so we compromised."
Tom Geiger Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 actually it's cleanly built, not a junk heap with stuff hanging off of it. I'd anticipate that it drove and stopped well, so why not?
dartman Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 There is a drag strip in Arizona and I think it was called George Rays. That looks like the cat he built and drove at the track.I believe he passed away last year.
Rob Hall Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Pretty crude..doesn't even have a firewall..wonder what it was built off of, maybe the chassis and floorpan of a delivery van (w/ that treadplate)?
