Porscheman Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 I got this yesterday afternoon. I painted it Tamiya Italian Red, with semi gloss black interior. I really enjoyed building this one. Let me know what you think. Thanks for looking. Al
peekay Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Another incredibly fast and yet perfectly finished build. I don't know how you do it - but keep doing it!
Jmaracing Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 really cool build.awesome job! I can't wait to get one and build it.
Porscheman Posted September 27, 2015 Author Posted September 27, 2015 Thank you Peter and Joe. I really enjoyed building this one.
cobraman Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 I like it. Captures the look pretty well. I had a 73 sport, white with the lazer stripe. I wonder if anyone will ever come out with a lazer stripe decal.
Dave Van Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 I think it's great!!Is that a single layer of the white stripe?? Looks nice and white....good job over all.
Danno Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Looks great! How much trouble were the decals?
Porscheman Posted September 27, 2015 Author Posted September 27, 2015 Thank you Bob, Ray, Dave and Danno. The decals are excellent in this kit and there is no bleed through of color of the body. They are very easy to work with. I did the sides first and then the roof stripe.
Tom Geiger Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 (edited) Nice work Al! Should've figured you'd have one done first! Hope to see it at the Diversified Scalerz show on the 3rd. And you answered my question on the roof stripe. Edited September 27, 2015 by Tom Geiger
unclescott58 Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Very fun to see one done already. Looks great!
StevenGuthmiller Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I'll never know how you do it Al! I spent several hours this weekend just detail painting an engine & chassis plate, & making a few small under hood detail parts. If I ever tried to do a build in 24 hours, it would look like.............I did it in 24 hours! Anyway, nice job! Steve
Chuck Kourouklis Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Yeah, that'd be slick for a build taking a lot longer than 24 hours! Very nicely done.
1zebra3 Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 The red looks a little dark but VERY NICE.
charlie8575 Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 It looks good together. I can see where the tuck-under in the lower part of the body is a tad shallow, but the overall impression is very good. Just need to figure out how to get a stock ride height and find some Magnums.Al, as always, great work. Hope to see this at LIARS.Charlie Larkin
slusher Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Very sharp build Al. Great paint and work..
bonehead23 Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Yup, great work...but somehow, I wonder why they even made this kit. Personal opinions may not count here, but this is one ugly car...just sayin'. Beautiful build, just a strange looking car. I might get one just to say i have one but doubtful i would build it...on second thought, it IS very unique...OH THE AGONY of decision!!!!

I might get one just to say i have one but doubtful i would build it...on second thought, it IS very unique...OH THE AGONY of decision!!!!They didn't make the kit because the car was beautiful. They made the kit because the car is iconic. And given the way these things are pre-selling (apparently), they made a great choice of subject matter.
RAMBENNA Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 great job Im right behind you , putting the decals on tonight, looks nice

Thank God for all of them! These Torinos were all over the place in '73-'74, in one configuration or another. You couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting one, so someone must have liked them.Even my small hometown police department had a light blue '73 4 door for one of their cruisers. Deathgoblin Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Looks great! Nice work. I've got one on pre-order. Can't wait!
