Here are a couple shots from my T-bird project that should give you an idea of the masking process. I cut the black photographic tape in very thin strips to outline the pattern, then fill in with larger pieces of tape (on the 'bird I used Tamiya tape, on the Sunliner, regular 3M masking tape.) The photo tape is strong, yet flexible, allowing me to work around tight curves. Masking these has typically taken from eight to 12 hours. It should be noted that the process for the Sunliner was somewhat the opposite shown here. For the Sunliner, I masked the blue and white so the silver could be shot last.
