Ron Hamilton Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 I built this from an original kit several years ago, in my favorite color color combination, Emberglow, with a Beige interior. I did a few things differently with this one. The steering wheel is Photo-etched, with a real wood rim (thanks Norm Veber), and the paint is Emberglow Lacquer from Model Car World. The interior color is a custom mixture of Floquil paints to get to the Beige trim. This is one of my favorite models over the years. I remember helping a friend build a '66 Ford Convertible back in the day. We brush painted it with good old Testors' Light Blue enanmel. I may do a Hardtop in Dark Green, with a Black Vinyl Roof and Interior, 427, dog dishes on body color steelies, and red-lines.
charlie8575 Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 That looks great, Ron. Emberglo is absolutely one of the best colors ever put on a car.Charlie Larkin
Jeremy Jon Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Gorgeous build Ron, I love that colour too, bravo!!!

Hi that is a awesome build I love the color combo I had a as one of my first cars a 66 Mustang GT hard top it was emberglow and for your records the interior color is called Parchment it came in light or dark tone's .I have a 1-1 67 Mustang convertible it's the new ford color that's close to the Emberglow with the LT-Parchment.
Ron Hamilton Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 Nice Ford there Ron. how long ago did you build it?I built it about 18 years ago.
cobraman Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Very nice model, really like the color and interior.
59-Desoto Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Nice to see these come from out of the shadow and brought back to life. Sweet save
FordRodnKustom Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Beauty! I like that color combo a lot.
John Goschke Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Looks great, Ron! Very attractive color combo and your careful detail painting make it a standout!
Geno Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 One of my favorite years for Ford and you done this one justice, it looks fantastic.
Maindrian Pace Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Beautiful job, Ron. The hardtop sounds intriguing, I'm planning a similar '67 build, using a kit that I royally screwed up as a misdirected youth.
MGL Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Looks really good, I did not realize the chrome trim went all the way around the top on the back of the front seats, is that correct for the 1/1 or is that artistic license on your part?
