Repstock Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Here's some cabs I've made out of sheet styrene. None of them are done, but you can see where I'm going with them. 1
Old Buckaroo Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I am very Impressed with all three. I am curious on how you made the Ford emblem . The dash leaves me speechless .
Bennyg Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Very nice! I'm scratch building a Mack chassis in 1/24. You've inspired me.
Jim B Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Absolutely fantastic work. They all look so realistic.
Casey429 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Excellent work on all of them, but I'm really digging the LTL. I've always liked the early hood, and it looks like you've nailed it.
Superpeterbilt Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 That Ford cab is amazing! The Cracker box is also. Are you going to have these cast?
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 That Ford cab is amazing! The Cracker box is also. Are you going to have these cast?X2I just have to add.. WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! The Crackerbox is awesome, but that Ford is simply incredible. I'm afraid that I need one of those!!
Chuck Most Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I love the Crackerbox and LTL, but every time I look at the pics of the W everything goes into slow-motion and the chorus of "Beautiful" by James Blunt starts playing in my head. Please, please, PLEASE say you're going to let somebody cast that one, at least!
cowboy rich Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 All I can say is WOW other than that I'm almost speechless, except that's amazing work.Rich
truckabilly Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Nice cabs. Hope the casts (if any) will be just as good.
disabled modeler Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 AWESOME Tom....I wish you had your own model kit company.

Tesla Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Unbelievable! Those cabs came out perfect. I do hope you consider having them cast
gatorincebu Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Absolutely fantastic work ! All three of the cabs look to be spot on. And I agree with Dennis, I hope you get someone to cast those cabs. Be Well Gator
redneckrigger Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Those cabs are extremely well done! Your attention to detail is really fantastic. They are all super, but the W and the Crackerbox are fighting for being my favorites. Have them cast and the hobby will beat a path to your door!
Russell C Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Missed this thread from years back, great starts! I have a weakness for the long hood L Fords, and halfway recently wondered what a phantom late-70s round quadlight version might look like, so I did a quick photo alteration of one of the Ford brochures. Alas, no available time to take on such a model project ... 1
Oldmopars Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 I know this is a really old thread, but any chance the OP is still around? I am working on drawing up the W for printing and these pictures are excellent. The craftsmanship is outstanding.
leafsprings Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Old post, but, wow, first time visual for me. Not surprised though, all Tom's work is professional grade! Really like the first gen. Ford W, outstanding details and spot on, everything in correct proportions. Old boxy is much more appealing than modern aerodynamics. The long Louisville is great too!
