Skip Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Although this isn't a subject that I'd typically build, I am happy to see it being produced and equally happy to see others are interested in it. I see a ton of research and development going into this project, the masters that went into producing the molds must be real beauties looking at the castings that came from them. The price reflects the amount of work that went into producing something of this magnitude! I can see someone taking one of these bodies along with parts from a semi truck kit and building something truely amazing. If this is typical of the resin castings that Robert Burns turns out, I can't wait to see what else lurks in his mind!
Lownslow Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 oh man i want this the price is perfect, keep in mind a full detail of this wouldve ran 350 and up and still be worth it.
Force Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 The castings looks nice but as many here has said, a little too much for my wallet. One thing that cought my eye...for a Futureliner to look right it should have dual tires in all 4 corners as the real thing had...8 wheels in total.
carsntrucks4you Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 (edited) Here are some photos of my Futurliner resin body Its $150 plus shipping. Includes body, black glass, and 4 resin wheel/tires.It's mostly geared toward the promo collector market, as opposed to model builders, so it's not very detailed. Due to the spending habits of the car crowd, costs were kept lower by not including a chassis, interior, detail exterior parts, and clear glass. Some minor air bubbles need to be filled. The lower door lines on both sides need to be rescribed. With some work, it'll make a impressive model If interested, please email:Robert Burns Jr101 at Yahoo dot com Thank you for reading I had tried to contact you, but no response. Is the email Jr101 at yahoo dot com corret? Edited December 10, 2016 by carsntrucks4you

It's hard to sell these at bargain prices
robertburns Posted December 11, 2016 Author Posted December 11, 2016 I had tried to contact you, but no response. Is the email Jr101 at yahoo dot com corret? Add robertburns in front of that and you'll have it. -Thanks!

robertburns Posted December 14, 2016 Author Posted December 14, 2016 I had tried to contact you, but no response. Is the email Jr101 at yahoo dot com corret? I replied to you. Did you get my email?
carsntrucks4you Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 I replied to you. Did you get my email?Yes and I sent you a reply
misterNNL Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Adding my two cents worth it would not be impossible to add a lot if the missing details with what I see in these forums being done with computer generated parts being cut out of styrene sheet with machines like Crickut(?) and others used in the scrapbooking hobby.
Edward Gore Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Great futuristic design. I could put rail wheels under this thing and make a 1/35 what-if Loco.
Chuck Most Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Section it a little and you could have a very interesting Bonneville contender...
TimStangohr Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 The castings looks nice but as many here has said, a little too much for my wallet. One thing that cought my eye...for a Futureliner to look right it should have dual tires in all 4 corners as the real thing had...8 wheels in total.Robert, you could offer the option of a second set of tires for it.
TimStangohr Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 It looks like a super well done kit. $150 is not a lot of money for what it is.
robertburns Posted December 27, 2016 Author Posted December 27, 2016 Robert, you could offer the option of a second set of tires for it.Sure but you'll have to find a way of mounting the wheels after grinding away the inner wheel wells
peteski Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 It would cost a pretty penny to model that scene as a diorama!
Jon Cole Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 With dual rear axles, that would look killer!
gtx6970 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 12 buses and a 32 vehicle support staff. that had to be an amazing scene coming into towns back then
robertburns Posted January 19, 2017 Author Posted January 19, 2017 I got mine. Great Thank you! Please post photos when you build
89AKurt Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 I won the blue version at the GSL Museum action, $90 seems like a steal after reading the previous comments.
1st 700 Quad Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 I gotta say. I bought one of these and the finish on the raw casting is so nice and smooth it will almost be a shame to paint it. It is as good as or better than the old Monogram kits where they polished the molds and the parts were ultra shiny. I can't say enough about how nice this piece is and well worth the price. I know how much RTV costs having done some casting of my own and the amount of RTV to make a mold for this must have been hundreds of dollars worth. And the mold must weigh a ton.Sugggestion for next project....the predecessor to this. the Streamliner.
