Starliner Kustoms Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Got this finished up the other day. Loved building it. And, it was my first time actually spraying the rally stripes. I have tried decals in the past with major failures. I used Dupli-Color for the first primer coat to see and body work that was needed. after wet sanding and drying I shot it with Tamiya primer followed with Tamiya's Bright White. After sitting for a few days I masked off and shot the Tamiya Bright Orange color coat followed by Testors Wet Look Clear. I built it pretty much out of the box with the exception of the wheels. I wanted to go with a more period look. Anyway, enough babbling...
Dodge Driver Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Great color choice! The wheels look super as well.
D. Battista Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Very nice job..! stripes came out great...! I would rather spray stripes than use decals also...

shoopdog Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Great looking Nova! Stripes turned out nice.
Dann Tier Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 I agree with everybody else -VERY, VERY nice looking Nova!! -I too like painted stripes over decals. Decals and I are NOT friends.
rustybill1960 Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Beautiful workWhat tape did you use for masking?Thank You for sharinglaterRuss
espo Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Very nice clean looking build. I agree with the others on the stripes. With the Cowl Induction Hood it's almost impossible to get the decals to lay down.
