I don't know if anybody has asked the question of what 1.1 cars you wish you still had.i had about 30 I wish I had today,a few of them are 57 bel air,67 gtx,66 impala ss convert,70 ss427 chevelle,70 split bumper Camaro,69 ss454 Camaro,72 corvette big block coupe,85 has pro stock Camaro and a lot more.anybody else wishing for the good old days?

Porsche 356 Speedster, '69 Camaro Pace-Car Edition, 2 Jensen Interceptors, Jag XK-E Series I convertible, Jag XK 150 fixed-head coupe, Lotus Super-Seven SII/III (London auto-show car), Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider, Alfa Romeo Duetto, Porsche 356 B sunroof-coupe, Volvo P-1800 with a Ford 289, '68 Porsche 911, Porsche 356 SC cabriolet, '67 VW Westfalia camper, '62 VW BUG with a Porsche 356 SC engine, GMC Step-Van, '62 VW double-cab pickup, '63 Dodge 413, '67 Ford wagon with a 428, a couple of Datsun 240Z-cars (including the first custom convertible on the planet)...I can't go on. The tears make it impossible to type.

Oh yeah...a bunch of Corvairs, a '58 "Common Gear", an Isetta, a couple of Triumph Stags, an Intermeccanica Italia Spyder...(mine was white)...

Would love to have my '73 Vega GT V8. Cars that got away....I turned my nose up to a '69 Chevelle. It had a 427 in it. Guy wanted $4k for it. Found it later in a magazine as a rare COPO. Made sure after, that I knew my stuff. In the early '80's I pass d on a Vega Yenko Stinger Kammback. Turbo still in the box in the back. Parts car too! Both $150. Just got married and had no money to spare.... Not even $150! Sigh!

1992...fully loaded, 5 speed, black on black 1986 Toyota Supra w/ low miles.  The contractor replacing the windows in my house didn't know I was a car guy.  I had just bought a POS Mercury Topaz for about $3K more than what he sold the Supra for.  ARGH!!!    2.5 years and a AAA 'frequent flyer card, I unloaded it for a Dodge Stealth.

For me, it would be my first car, an '85 Lebaron GTS with the factory 2.2 Turbo 1, Sport Handling 2 suspension and wheel package in black with gold pinstriping and blood red leather,.  Be pretty awesome to still have the dark green '70 Charger R/T with the 440 Six Pack/4-Speed/Track Pack my folks used to own, at least one of the old G-Series Full Sized Chevy Beauville Vans we had, even the '88 Cherokee Dad used to own, which was so stripped down that is didn't even have a passenger door mirror, but it did have the 4.0l/AW4/242 TRIO with factory multi spoked 15x7 aluminum rims!

Split-window semaphore Bug ($50, kid's mom sent it to the crusher an hour before I got back with the cash), Ferrari 365 Daytona Spyder ($10,000 at the time), a Gullwing Merc with Rudge knockoffs, sitting on 4 flat tires ($15,000 at the time)...

Back in 2008 I saw a '65 Satellite for sale with a 383(?), hood scoop, Super Stock exhaust system, etc. My brother in law was goading me into getting it and I said no. He even got the dealer's business card for me. Of course I didn't have any cash in hand and a couple weeks or so went by and they car was gone. Not oh well in this case, as my better half and I went to the bank and got a home equity loan and I started lookin' for another car. Almost a year later I found and bought one as I was prepared then.

The '65 Satellites and '65 Coronets are still two of my most favorite cars though.

I sold a 66 impala ss convertible in in 1978 for $70.00!!?!

Guy I know in 2005 found a two-owner '62 triple-red Impala 409 4-speed car for $2500. Kid who owned it was killed in SE Asia in the late '60s, it sat in the family's carport, covered, since then.

The car I miss the most, and dream about every night is a 1990 VAZ - 2104 Lada Laika SW bought new by my father. Loved it so much, he let me have her a year latter. 

Sold when the importer stopped activities and parts get as expensive as gold. When a rock hit the right headlight and cracked the glass, and I took a year to find another, I decided to sell. Worse thing I ever did. It was before the internet made parts available from the entire world. 

Also had a '73 VW bug and a Mercedes E-420 1986, but those I was happy to sell. Both were always with a issue or another.  

Miss a little bit a Chevrolet Veraneio 1973, also in the family since new. Sold in 2005. 

Also missed: 

1991 Chevrolet Kadett SL/E 1.8 litre,

1995 Chevrolet Astra GLS 2.0 litre.

I have a couple tales I can tell. I had a 1966 Lincoln convertible that was pretty wonderful that I sold in a moment of weakness in order to buy a 1962 Lincoln that turned into a nightmare.  Later I sold a 1926 Ford Model T Touring  that I regretted selling before it was loaded into the transporter. Fortunately I was able to successfully purchase that car back. The two painful near misses were both Classics.  The most recent was my failure to pull the trigger on a highly under priced 1929 Franklin 137 Sport Roadster. Worse though was my dad's inability to figure out how to drag a non running, tireless car up a steep hill. The price of the old hulk was "for free. You boys just get it our of here." The car? A 1934 Packard 12 Coupe Roadster. Oh well.

There was always a good reason to let any of them go. The one I remember though, is the one I didn't buy. It was a Ford Escort mk.1 (the one with the dog-bone grill). It was still running and in reasonable shape in '87, but could use some work and I was still in school and just didn't have the funds. Oh well..

I had a '67 Chrysler 300 & a '58 Cadillac 62 Series coupe that I wouldn't mind having back.

Although I don't know why.

The '67 Chrysler's wiring was a complete mess & I had the Cadillac for over 25 years & never had the funds to do anything with it.

I am lucky in one respect.

The first "nice" car I bought right out of high school was a '69 Pontiac Grand Prix.

After getting married, rather than sell it, I stuck it in storage.

Just got it out a couple of years ago after nearly 30 years & started the restoration.

Of the cars I've owned there are three I would still like to have today. A '65 Corvair Monza, '71 Datsun 240Z, and '76 SAAB 99 EMS. All were bought new and I really enjoyed driving them.

Oh boy. There were many, but among them...

67 Mustang convertible - restoration completed except paint, new top, $1500 in 1981.

Reason I didn't buy? It was November and I didn't want to drive a primered car through the IL winter. Bought a '74 Coupe deVille instead.

'57 Rambler Rebel - at the L.A. County estate auction about 15 years ago. Solid original running car with no rust and good paint; rare as hens' teeth and one of the hottest-performing cars that year; sold for five hundred freaking dollars .

Reason I didn't bid? There was a ratty '59 Silver Hawk in the warehouse awaiting probate; blinded by Stude-lust I decided to wait for it. Result? Some family member came along and took it back so I got neither one.

Ones I had, briefly, but let go:

'88 Starion. 44k miles, excellent shape. Bought it at the estate auction to flip it; paid $2400 and sold it for $3100 - but I fell in love with the way it drove (turbo!!!) and I would have kept it if I hadn't been upside down in payments on my '90 Trofeo.

But the one I miss the most (only photo I have):

'64 Catalina 2+2 convertible - one owner 105k-mile original car. Again, the L.A. estate auction; I bid it up to $3200 and literally jumped for joy when the auctioneer said "SOLD!". Put the top down and drove it home feeling like the luckiest guy in the world.

Reason it got away? 6 months later, my roommates couldn't come up with their $1000 for the rent and it was either sell it or live in it. Got $3600 from the guy I'd been buying parts from (it looked decent but did need a lot of work), who flipped it for five grand to some local Japanese guy who was ready to do a five-figure resto job.

So if you see a white 2+2 vert with CA black plates QKP 818 cruising around SoCal, tip your hat to it...

Amongst the many cars I've owned was a '76 MG Midget, which I bought in the mid 1980s. I thought it would be fun to drive to work, and would offer great gas mileage. Not long after I purchased it, I drove it to work (25 miles) one morning, and everyone kept telling me that I had left my headlights on. I *never* forget to turn off the lights and lock my car. So, I went to check the car. Sure enough, headlight switch was in "off" position, but headlights were on. Thus began my acquaintance with Lucas Electrical components (otherwise known as Lucas, prince of darkness)? Then there was tuning twin carbs, and the high price of foreign car parts, and..........

The two (2) cars that I really miss are my '70 Pontiac Grand Prix, and my '76 Caddy Coupe DeVille (hope my Modelhaus '76 Caddy shows up some day soon). Both of these were victims of car wrecks caused by idiot drivers.

1979 Capri with an 86 5.0 , 1978 Cutlass with a warmed over 400 chevy and my brothers 70 Torino 429 SCJ Drag pack car. It was rough (but fixable) and at the time not worth the money to have the work done. He was unemployed and sold the engine and trans before the car was scrapped.

Like most of you, I have had a number of cars I would like to have back. But the one I miss most was my '67 Corvette convertible. I sold it to get married and now I don't have the car or the wife. Just a couple of faded old pictures of the car.
