Intmd8r Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 My version of the Revell ’29 Ford Roadster highboy. Paint is Testors Inca Gold, Testors White Pearl (firewall), and Duplicolor clear. No aftermarket parts were used on this build – everything was either modified kit stock, or sourced from junk around the house. The fuel block and turn signals were made from scrap plastic, while the fuel lines, spark plug wires and boots were sourced from a damaged HDMI cable. The throttle linkage was made from sewing pins. I cut out the center section of the grill and replaced it with some mesh from a food strainer. Lastly, subtle wood grain hand painted on the steering wheel and shift knob. Built over a 3 week period. Weather has been uncooperative lately, so kitchen table pics will have to do.
Intmd8r Posted March 27, 2017 Author Posted March 27, 2017 Here she is – all polished up for her debut at Heritagecon (Hamilton Warplane Museum). Final completion was only a few hours prior to this shot, the night before lol. She won her class – Street Machines and Rods My favorite shot - displayed back at home, next to my Father's Day "Dad Rocks!" one of a kind rock lol.

Intmd8r Posted March 30, 2017 Author Posted March 30, 2017 Very clean build. The little details you added to this great kit really set it apart. Nice job! Thanks for noticing Craig and to everyone for the feedback. Rods from the '20's and '30's have been done to death, so I really wanted to add my own details while adhering to the contest rules of no after market parts. With those details so small (literally), I'm surprised than anyone else noticed
TooOld Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Very very nicely done and some great detailing , congrats !
