De Tomaso Pantera, Fujimi. 1/24

All that recent discussion of Pantera kits got me interested in building one, and the Fujimi seems to be a pretty good offering, albeit pretty simplified. It's highly "curbside" with simplified chassis/suspension and no engine at all, but the cabin interior is crisp and paints up nicely, and overall it seems to me to capture the shape and external detailing of the real thing very well. It's bigger than I expected, as well... I thought the Pantera was a smallish car, but, well, no....

 

And this is my attempt to recreate the cover of an early 70s issue of "Car" magazine:

I remember the magazine cover. What's the brown car? Its one I can't I want to say a Maserati Merak but I'm not sure.

The engine is the part I like about the 1:1.

You did a nice job on the kit, and the color suits it pretty well.

Looks a little different than the version I bought.  I forgot what make it was, but I do remember it was a foreign kit.  I like your version more as it seems to be a little more detailed.

Haven't seen a Pantera in years , yours looks great !      It's a shame it has no engine as that was the main attraction of a Pantera in the first place .

Hi,

Your work is amazing as always, looks like a real 1:1 subject.

I've been back and forth on buying this kit due to cost vs parts count.

But seeing your makes me want to buy it.
