mchook Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Finally finished this thing & got some good pics. Old Ford A Model power unit like my father had as a kid. Tell me what you think... good or bad I want to hear it all.
1930fordpickup Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 (edited) Man do I like this. We had a buzz saw that we used for years. We put the tractor on the other side of the saw so the long pieces did not get near the belt. The sad part is dad loaned it out and cannot remember to whom with the stroke and all. espo Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Excellent looking build. This was a common power source in many parts of the country years ago. People just used what they had and this engine would run all day long no problem. Your build details this subject perfectly. That is really cool looking.
mecklm Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Wow, your new belt looks fantastic! Definitely takes it over the top in realism. Very well done model that captures the essence of the real thing. Thanks for sharing! Mike
mustang1989 Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Man that is COOL and it's a brilliant idea for a diorama!!
Anglia105E Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Very nicely done Mark, and as others may have mentioned this is an unusual subject for a diorama, and it really works too! David
ismaelg Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 (edited) Followed the progress of this one. Very nice! It was very cool in itself as a stand alone unit but the diorama brings it to life! I like all aspects: the engine itself, cart, belt, saw etc. Never saw this type of equipment in real life but my only comment is that the saw itself looks very shiny. Maybe dull it a little bit? Again, never seen one so not sure how valid my comment is. Love it! Thanks, Edited January 28, 2018 by ismaelg

Thanks, sorry about your dad. After I posted the pictures I realized I set the saw up wrong. I didn't think anyone would notice, but.... So here it is the right way & thank you all for the great comments!!!
Mercuryman54 Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 OSHA ...SMOSHA!!! Great build!! Just keep your fingers back!! Dennis
