Dave B Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 My take on George Wintersteen's GS roadster chassis 002. Kit from Accurate Miniatures, basic resin transkit body bought of Ebay abut 8 years ago (when Oz dollar had parity), Vintage Racing Miniatures decals (the BEST!!), Model Car Garage photo etch detail set and my own wheels and vacformed glass. Painted with auto acrylic. Was a fun build but in hindsight could do better, should have bought and additional body and built the prototype as well as the transkit includes the head rest. Thanks for looking. Dave B
aurfalien Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Hello Monsignor, As usual, your work inspires. This is very very very cool.
Lizard Racing Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 Great work! This is a little known or forgotten version of the GS. According to legend, Wintersteen bought the car in coupe form from Roger Penske at Nassau in 1964. Penske had just won the Tourist Trophy race with it, the only international win for a Grand Sport. The only problem was, Penske did not own the car; Jim Hall did.
Silver Foxx Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 Another one of your great looking builds , real nice , I have both sets of the VRM Gran Sport decals , this build might inspire me to get in and build a Gran Sport .
Dave Darby Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Looks great. Love Grand Sport Vetted. You did it proud.
ismaelg Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Superb! Great job Dave! I'm about to start on my coupe version.
afx Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Is this the Historic Racing Miniature trans- kit? Doesn't appear to be.

bbowser Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 Great model! The only thing I would add is some flat black in the ends of the exhaust pipes. Those wheels are very cool.
