YBlock292 Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 (edited) i The bumpers were completely rechromed with Molotow Liquid Chrome. Photos of the engine will be added! Edited August 3, 2018 by YBlock292
smhardesty Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 (edited) Very nicely done. Super neat and clean build. Color is different and looks fantastic on this car. What color paint is that? It really fits the car, for sure. Also, you said the bumpers were "re-chromed" with Molotow Liquid Chrome. Did you use one of the pens for that, and if so what size pen did you use? If not, how did you apply it? The bumpers look great. Edited August 3, 2018 by smhardesty
bbowser Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 That's gorgeous! It's a great kit and you've done it justice.
YBlock292 Posted August 4, 2018 Author Posted August 4, 2018 Thank You, guys! Color is Tamiya "Pearl Green" (can) plus two coats of Tamiya "Pearl Clear" (TS 65). I rechromed the bumpers with a thick brush and I only washed the parts with warm water and a detergent before. For such bigger parts I use the refill unit of MLC (30 ml). The pens are better for smaller parts like window frames or moldings etc. pics of the engine will follow!
ewetwo Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 I just finished a 61 convertible. Not anywhere as nice as this. question. How were you able to two tone the seats? I tried everything and didn't succeed.
espo Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Excellent paint finish and the chrome trim is perfect. I like how you matched the interior to the exterior. I also would like to learn more about how you did your bumpers.
High octane Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Very nice job on that Impala Ludwig, as it looks "spot on."
