I’d love to see someone do one. Notice the door handle in the middle that’s because inside there were handles on each end the door hinges in the front for getting in the back seats and the back for getting in the front
Foxer Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 (edited) There are just way too many to pick from ... ... I'd rather pick from cars I've owned, but that is hard too ... so I'll choose two that I owned ... I had a 1967 Triumph TR4A when I exited the Army. It was exhilarating when the SU Carbs didn't need to be synced. Then, after 4 previous 944's, the last Porsche 944, a 1991 was the best. It had the 3-liter four destined for the 968. Gobs of torque from those coffee can pistons. Still, my 2016 GTI is faster, but nowhere near the suspension on the Porsche. Edited August 10, 2018 by Foxer
gtx6970 Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 (edited) favorites I have owned in the past , 1969 GTX , Ive had 2 hardtops and 2 convertibles. ( all sold now ) Plan to own here soon. 1967 GTX Woudl LOVE to own one someday 1961 Chrysler 300 , convertible would be top of the list, but way out of my price range . so A hardtop would do nicely Edited August 10, 2018 by gtx6970
Gramps46 Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 A spit window coupe in 1977. Autocrossing before restoration. After I restored it but without the front bumpers yet.
MrObsessive Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 My Dad had told me years ago that he wanted one of these badly when this was new. I thought he said that the car was something like $5-6K off the lot, and he couldn't afford it as that's how much he made in an entire year. Throw in the fact that Mom was expecting me at the time, and there's no way he could afford something like this! Dad was a diehard Chrysler man though, and he ended up settling for a very nice '57 Belvedere a few years later to replace his now tired '55 Plymouth Savoy.
MrObsessive Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Nice car Bill!! Is it a Hemi or a 440 car? I've always like these, and it's too bad that they've been overshadowed by their '68-'70 brethren. Arguably a nicer car style wise, but these had that serious/clean square jawed look to 'em that I really like.
Jantrix Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 After the aforementioned 1st gen Charger, this would be my next choice. This is the Aussie Ford Falcon XB. Like the Charger the overall shape and look of this car just pleases me. It screams "muscle car" more than just anout any other car of the era.

Greg Myers Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Favorite car I owned ( and regret selling ) 1960 El Camino , white with chrome reverse rims with baby moons. 283 four speed, three two barrels.
forthlin Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 (edited) 1955 Olds 98 Starfire convertible. My Mom had one in the late 1950's. I was only 6 but I thought that was a gorgeous car. She traded it in 1961.I wish I would have been old enough to have taken it off Her hands. Her car was the same color as this one & had the continental kit. Performance, utility, and concept car looks, all in one drop dead gorgeous package. That is one goofy looking car. I have to say, I kinda dig it. As for me, I don't want any original car that is expensive or well sought after. I'd love to have a replica GT40 mk1 or something, but nothing original. You can't ruin a replica. Also, I second the XB Falcon. Great car I think Edited August 10, 2018 by THORDOOR220

sfhess Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 I've had this thing for 32 years, so I guess you could say I kinda like it.......

unclescott58 Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 I've never owned, but have always loved the Cord 810 - 812. I think I have owned and built just about every model kit of car. Except AMT's 1/12 scale version. I own one. I just haven't gotten around to building yet. Hands down my all favorite automobile.

ChrisBcritter Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Sweet! My dad's favorite car since he saw one on the streets of Paducah, KY 71 years ago. That kit is kind of an anomaly for AMT. I wonder if they had any other 1/12 classics planned?

The one shown isa 440 car I am interested in color combinations and options in this body style. I MIGHT consider either a 66 Satellite , or maybe a 67 belvedere if the colors and options are there . But REALLY would prefer a 67 GTX 440 auto. And if I can find this exact color only with a copper interior , now that would get my heart pumping Although it would be nice , I'm afraid an original Hemi car is out of my budget
Mr mopar Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 my favorite car would have to be the 1970 Plymouth Superbird....would love to own one.
1972coronet Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 My all-time favourite car has been the 1973 Duster . I've owned only one ( 02.Feb.1992 - 12.Sept.1992 ) , and I still miss it to this day . It was TB3 Basin Street Blue , black interior , power disc brakes , power steering , factory-upgrade 727 trans , A/C , etc. , etc. I bought it for 70$ ! Everything worked in that car ; ice cold A/C ; blast furnace heater ; factory AM/FM radio ( I replaced a junk aftermarket AM/FM/Cassette that was in the car when I bought it ) . But , I digress ... Here's some 'stock image' photos of vehicles that I would love to own some day :

Yeah, that might be a better word. It's certainly unique either way, and it would be a head turner for sure
