Exotics_Builder Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 This just popped up for preordering
Justin Porter Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 My fellow builders, if I am not mistaken this will be the first modern 1/25th scale kit of a 1968-1972 GM A-body. I'm beyond excited to get these onto the shelf.

Justin Porter Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 D'oh! Somehow the Cutlass convertible slipped my mind and I've even sold one of the kits with Linda Vaughn within the last month.
Len Woodruff Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 What is the release date and where can we pre-order?

Right now, a tentative December and we're taking pre-orders (shameless self-plug) https://www.megahobby.com/products/preorder-1968-chevelle-ss-396-1-24-revell.html Just a heads up, we take payment up front on pre-orders which we've found helps the whole process go a lot smoother for all parties involved.

Hey Eric, what did you get for Christmas? ME: Broke!

And I'd still call the AMT (originally sold under the MPC label) '69 4-4-2 a modern kit. Also the AMT '68 El Camino, though I'm not sure a '68-'72 Elky qualifies as an A body, as it was built on a longer chassis than the coupes. Wait, it was built on the same chassis as the 4-doors and wagons. Were they considered A-bodies? Then I guess the Elky would be, too.

Yes, I didn't bring up the AMT 442, El Camino, or '70 Monte Carlo since the thread was about a Revell kit. Edited September 11, 2018 by Rob Hall

StevenGuthmiller Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Perfect! Now I can stop wasting my time looking for an original '68 annual! I know that the annual is nearly non-existent, but I can't help wondering how it will affect the value of them. Steve

Mint in box will always be good; partials, projects, and builtups will decline markedly. Watch eBay over the next six months or so, as owners of the latter will attempt to unload!

I'd preorder except that we're getting ready for the moving van to show up in a few days

The rear side window at the roofline looks odd. However the it looks fine in the rear view in the background. Hope it is just a bad picture angle.
JohnU Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 So I take it this is a new tool? I’m surprised there wasn’t any fanfare leading up to its release! Unless I missed something with Revells business hiccup. I’m very happy to see this one and hope they can get a 69 out of this as well with accurate rear taillights! Now I have to decide if I want to keep my die cast samples!

Now I have to decide if I want to keep my die cast samples! Entirely new from the ground up tool. The project was mostly complete about a year ago, but the Hobbico bankruptcy intervened. A quick look at a completed test shot buildup at that time looked very promising. TB

Please correct your website, it is 1/25, not 1/24. I can't wait for this!
R.J Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Great call Revell badly needed, now if they will just tool up a nice 1964 Chevelle /Malibu that would fill another big hole in the Chevy line. The AMT 69 Chevelle is getting right pricy also so maybe??????????????
mikemodeler Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 I am in for a couple. Nice to see Revell quieting the critics and naysayers, hopefully there is more like this coming our way!
