Ok first of all, I think to myself, you can't do another Red Ferrari...

So I thought, maybe a cool cruiser...

So I started doodling on the engine,...

Mr. RandyD came thru with a couple awesome distributors from HRM

efDeOX1.jpg Beauties:wub:

So with the engine well on it's way, I started doing some research,.... (opposite of "plan your build, and build your plan"),...sorry Ace,..( where are you? )

Then I found her

Now this,  is going to require some modifications, but I love the story,...

Guy walks into a Ferrari dealership..

Sales man says,.."What can I help you with?".."

Guy says, "I want a 365 GTB/4 Daytona, in RED"

Sales man.."No problem, gonna take a year to get it,...they're handmade, yanow? !"Guy says, "No problem, I'll wait for perfection"

...And a deal is struck...

Car comes in in like half the time and sales man starts turning it into a Competizione ....say it with me( that's 6 syllables folks)

So he can race it before handing it over to the paying customer,..Whhaaaat!

True story

So now I had a plan...

I kept working on the engine while I played with the body

Started cutting up the front end

...and that's where we sit so far...

Comments and critiques welcome

I have that kit!  But who knows when I'll build it, a few others to choose from.  Now I'll have to look for just distributors, I recently got a whole HRM engine.

Isn't there a Comp... a ....... zoomie kit already?  ;)  Look forward to see your progress!

Looking forward to this project Bruce, you're off to a great start.

HRM offers a trans-kit for the later competition cars:  body w/fender fences, wheel flares & monster wheels/tires.

Italeri also produced a plastic kit of the GTB/C.

I have both the trans-kit and the Italeri kit in the stash.

This is gonna be exceptional!!…...always loved how tough these racers looked!.....I have that kit as well, got it from a great guy.....JC!.  This odly enough is what I wanted to do with mine, but I think that I will look for that Italeri one that JC showed. I will most definitely be following this one!!

Italeri is a GREAT kit.

Two years ago, when I got back into the modelling hobby after a break of almost 20 years, I was focused on US car models of all various kinds. And I traded this Italeri kit against a Bullitt Mustang and a Plymouth Superbird. Molto stupido...

Gerry, looking at your pictures is like looking at my stash. Feels really weird. Might be even sitting on the shelf in the same order. :)

That is in the moving box getting ready to get back to Washington State.  I have a slew more Ferraris.
