Chariots of Fire Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 After a couple of feverish work sessions the Class 325 fire fighting rig is finished. The plumbing from tank to pump and from pump to hose reels was finished yesterday and a battery box was installed behind the cab. A little paint touchup here and there and it is now ready to go.
Jim B Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 That looks fantastic, Charlie. Extremely well done.
afx Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 This may be your best build yet - at least of those I have seen.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 This would be an Awesome build if it had came from a kit, but when I look at all of your fabrication, casting and scratch building that went into this model, it goes to a level far beyond extraordinary. Charlie, you truly are a Craftsman!! EXCELLENT WORK!!! IT looks incredible!!
Goose1957 Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 Wow, that is nice. Great craftsmanship. Jeff
Chariots of Fire Posted September 17, 2018 Author Posted September 17, 2018 Thanks, guys. Now I just have to do it all over again for Jim's friend who is in Belgium!
Silver Foxx Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 Real nice work , a lot of great detail in this .
redneckrigger Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 Absolutely awesome work, and as with all of your builds, they just keep getting better! The only question is, what is next to top this???!!!
Gramps46 Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 I am very impressed with your craftmanship and execution.
Oldmopars Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Absolutely insane, your work is amazing. I love it. Hats off to you.
Flynlo Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Another stunner Charles. It's truly amazing what you can create! No kit???No problem!!!
Chariots of Fire Posted September 20, 2018 Author Posted September 20, 2018 Thanks, Tim: I did have to use the Revell '41 Chevy kit for the cab and engine. Without those I could have been in big trouble!
mikemodeler Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Great work as usual, excellent details and the craftsmanship is outstanding!
Chariots of Fire Posted October 4, 2018 Author Posted October 4, 2018 Well, it was complete until I was asked to add one last detail. And that was the bridge weight placard. The 6 refers to the GVW in tons.
Chariots of Fire Posted October 19, 2018 Author Posted October 19, 2018 It's on its way to Hawaii! For the second time. It arrived a couple of weeks ago and the left front wheel and tire had broken off as well as a couple of small detail parts. So it got shipped back for repairs in the motor pool. Today it went back in the mail in a different box with plenty of soft foam around it for protection. Should fair better this time (I hope!).
DrKerry Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 As always Charlie! Beautiful and top notch work!! That is a awesomely beautiful truck!!!
extmcdriver Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Excellent work, looks ready to work right now.
