I am not Cobraman but I can offer up this picture of the same RHD Cobra.  I don't have a COB or COX serial number in my files but given the E Type in the background I am guessing it was in the UK.

My best guess is an AC 289 Sport, thus COB6127.  It was the last one made according to the Registry and had a history with winning the Silverstone Sprint Championship Challenge Trophy.  I am assuming sprint = drag competition.

The AC Cobra started off as the AC Ace sports car built in Thames Ditton, Surrey just South of London in the UK. Carroll Shelby had chassis and bodies shipped to the USA, stuck V8 engines into them and this the Cobra was born. The earlier models did not have the flared out wheel arches and wide wheels depicted in most kits. I have a very early Cobra kit that was released back in the 60s by the now defunct Frog company with the Ace body style, that I think was made under licence from AMT. There is I think someone out there making a resin transmit to make this old kit back into an A.C. ace.

Noel, would love to see pictures of your Frog kit.

I'm working with HRM on an Ace Bristol resin trans-kit.

"Just A Car Guy" doesn't think this is a Cobra.

It's clearly a Cobra.

Look at the dia. of that steering wheel, it's huge.

If a search is done on Wolfe Racing, the blue and yellow logo, you will see they had a couple Cobras. The search shows images of a rather large, for the time,  race transport/car carrier with Cobra insignia on it.

AC kept building Cobras for years after they stopped selling them in the States.   The only difference between them and the Shelby Cobra was the name.

No sure they were Ford V8 powered though s Ford may have not wanted to keep supplying engines to the UK.

They most certainly were, though with the 289 instead of the 427, and the Cobra eventually became the basis for this beauty that they sold into the 70s.  It was eqipped with a Ford 428, and a few come with a 427.

Learn something new every day.  That car is beautiful.  We need a model of one.  Was it the ACE II? Looks like a MG and Jag mishmash.

Yes, we most certainly do need a model of it.   It was sold as the AC 428.   If anything, it's a dead ringer for a Maserati Mistral, which was also styled by Pietro Frua.

I was thinking Maserati too.  There is a curbside resin kit of the Coupe by Fatory Hiro in 1/24.

Greg, your picture got me to thinking?  Any more pictures of this special vehicle conversion?

One Ebbro Citroen DS kit, One Cobra Kit, some Evergreen and Plastruct Sheet and Extrusions, some 1/32nd or 1/43rd scale Wheels and VOILA!

Apparently a guy named Pierre Tissier modified a lot of Citroens into commercial vehicles, this being one of them.

This is one of the results found on a Google search for "citroen auto transporter meilen", then selecting images and scrolling through them until I found a picture of it.

He did/does some interesting conversions. I don't know if he is still in business. This particular one was probably built around 1970.

Searching for "tissier citroen" comes up with pretty cool resources.
