cobraman Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Warning ! Once you see this it can not be unseen ! Built as a goofy Cobra so I had something different in the cabinet . It’s ok to laugh . AMT Cobra kit . Paint is Ultraviolet Pearl . Added resin leaf springs, aluminum front axle . Nothing special. Comment good or bad are always welcome .
DumpyDan Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Woo that is pretty awesome Ray, nicely done.
donb Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Interesting! Different for sure. I like the color.
slusher Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Very neat build Ray, different but cool. Sharp paint and engine...
Gramps46 Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Is this build going to cause friction in the Cobra cabinet? Actually with all the replica fiberglass bodies floating around I would be surprised if one did not end up on an old Bronco chassis.
afx Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 You would need to be an Olympic high jumper to clear that door Le Mans start style.
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 (edited) Pretty freaky, Ray, but nicely turned out. Definitely good for a chuckle. Edited November 13, 2018 by Ace-Garageguy
cobraman Posted November 13, 2018 Author Posted November 13, 2018 Thanks fellows. I am afraid I am running out of ideas for my Cobra's. Cobra's are one of those cars you can only build so many ways without going way out of the box. Have not done one as a wagon yet so if I can source a roof that will work ???????

H ha, no friction in any of my cabinets as I have other "crazy" ones to keep it company.
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 How's 'bout a Cobra wrecker, with really wide rear fenders over dually wheels/tires, and a tow rig in back? Or maybe a COE Cobra pickup?
cobraman Posted November 13, 2018 Author Posted November 13, 2018 Those are just crazy ! Food for thought. I think I want to do a wagon. Roof that is sized right may be a problem.

Why not build one similar to this but with Mudder Tires and 4-wheel drive?

I think you could modify the custom roof into a respectable wagon top. I modified one into this.

Thanks for the idea. I have a couple spare roofs to mess around with. I did put a 63 Vette split window on one.
crazyjim Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 How about a futuristic version that flies with rocket power?

When I was still working we built 10-12 finished Cobras every year for the 19 years I was there . . . I can guarantee you that no two were alike and they were all head turners . But when it comes to scaled down versions sitting on a shelf I can see your dilemma . Your paint work is so beautiful why not expand on that and try some fade jobs or some fancy mural-like designs . A Snake Skin comes to mind , or a Cobra head on the hood with big ol' fangs !
bobthehobbyguy Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Love it. Definitely different. How about a 4x4 version?

GerN Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Nicely done. For freaky Cobras, I have built one as a bread wagon, one widened as a pseudo-Daytona, one with an orange crate body and reversed rear fenders (225 Mopar power).
vamach1 Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 As long as it is realistic, i.e., could it be built for real I say why not? I've seen plenty of 4x4 classic Mustangs, most of which want to make me puke but I'd never say that about a Cobra. Well, unless you do a pink one which you probably already have. That would be like taking the fangs out of a snake. Please provide a warning if you post a pink one.
