cobraman Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Just another of my lame Cobra ideas .Lots still to do and coming up with ideas as I go along .Question ..... since it is supposed to be a Batcar does it have to be black ?
Dentz Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 yup, gotta be black. are you leaning to the movie look or tv look? I think it could look killer with the orange pin striping
bobthehobbyguy Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Cool project. Definitely a different cobra. An alternative to black would be an almost black blue. That's how the comics did the batmobile. Will be watching this.
Snake45 Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 I don't think Batman could fit in a Cobra (especially with cape, belt, and boots). Maybe it were center-steer, and he sat right in the middle straddling the drive hump....
cobraman Posted November 23, 2018 Author Posted November 23, 2018 Maybe the dark blue. Not good with black but we shall see. Batman was on a diet and his tools have been made smaller by science !

cobraman Posted November 23, 2018 Author Posted November 23, 2018 Oh no Bill, can't do that ! Thanks for the pic Rex. How about that. Looks like a Factory 5 kit. ?? I thought the stupid idea was my own.
crazyjim Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Wonderful idea, Ray. I'll keep watching your build.
Mark IV Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Perhaps you need to start buying better drugs! I think Batman would start with a big block, well, just because! And this from a small block owner and aficionado!
cobraman Posted November 24, 2018 Author Posted November 24, 2018 Thanks Jim ! Rick, who said it was going to have a small block ? I am actually seeking out some options for a power plant.

bisc63 Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 Go dark metallic purple for a 60s Batgirl vibe. Batgirl could have a car as well! Here's the color scheme: (You may want to add some dagmars to the front bumper, wink wink)
Dann Tier Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 Interesting idea, Ray, but I think it should be some sort of black/dark charcoal kolor...
cobraman Posted November 25, 2018 Author Posted November 25, 2018 I agree. Looking for a power source other than a conventional engine.

Ralph Henderson Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 16 hours ago, cobraman said: I am actually seeking out some options for a power plant. ooh, how 'bout the turbine from the MPC Lotus STP indy car?....
cobraman Posted November 25, 2018 Author Posted November 25, 2018 Thanks guys. I will have to see the size of that turbine. I was thinking of the turbine in the Cherry Bomb kit but I think it is too simple and without much detail.
Tommy124 Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Cool idea... And I might know the sequel to that... The James Bond Cobra...
Richard Bartrop Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 In the comics, just about anything has been a Batmobile at some point, so why not a Cobra? Now for decent turbines, there's the Revell Parts Pack turbine, and the Jo-han turbine car. Didn't some of the MPC Corvette kits have a turbine option?
cobraman Posted November 26, 2018 Author Posted November 26, 2018 Thanks Richard. Most that I have found are just to large for the cobra. I may have to just go with the kit engine.
TarheelRick Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Saw this one in the Museum of American History in DC. I am pretty sure the color is partially due to lighting around the display, but I don't believe a black car would reflect that much of a purple hue.
