Paul Hettick Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 This was built using the Best Model products resin trans kit.
MrObsessive Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 OK Paul......now you did it! You just made me want to get one of those transkits as that is gorgeous! Does the kit come with the provision for the open top or did you have to make that? I've seen these on the 'Bay, but I can't remember how he does them. BTW, I've gotten his dash gauges in the past and those really can bring things to life!
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 Great looking little Bug. Really makes me miss my blue '62.
Paul Hettick Posted January 16, 2019 Author Posted January 16, 2019 Bill it comes with the open and closed rag top inserts and a hole in the roof. A very nice resin kit as All of his products are. He also does an earlier split window model. This builds with the Tamyia 66 Beetle as a donor.
89AKurt Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 That came out really nice! Just so everyone knows, he had moved recently, and his website is not working due to technical issues. He was able to make a few parts for me. Need to contact via email.

peekay Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 My first car was a VW but it wasn't NEARLY as nice as this! I specially like the detailing on the wheels.
FabbricaP Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 Looks amazing! Really liking your color choice

espo Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 Beautiful looking build. If you took some pictures in an outdoor setting it could easily pass for a 1:1.
