Anyone have a builtup Italeri 275 GTB they'd like to show us?

Here's mine. Don't know whether it is Italeri or not. The wipers must have fallen off during one of our moves.

Peter, that's a good question. I don't have his latest catalog, but last I knew he wasn't making them. IIRC, I got the last engine from him a few years ago as Norm made it for my by "special request" since I see him fairly regularly at the club meetings. If you'd like one, perhaps you can drop him a line?

His email address is:
ReplMinCoMd@aol.com

Thanks for the info Bill.

I have 3 of those engines (slated for my projects), but I was curious if they were still available.  I'm just afraid that like with Modelhaus, RMCoM will eventually shut down (and probably sooner than later). :(  Norm has been making his superb castings for a long time - I'm sure he would like to stop casting and build some models for a change.

Yeah, we were just talking about this very thing not long ago at a get-together. It reinforces what I've always thought about things you want in the aftermarket. If you see it, want it and can afford it, BUY IT! No telling when all of a sudden it'll disappear and then be truly unobtainium.

Perfect example..........Plamoz's resin 1967 Shelby 10 spoke wheels. All of a sudden they were 'not available' and are next to impossible to get now as no one wants to part with 'em.

Exactly!  And another problem is that there is nobody out there (with the abilities, know-how, and financial backing) to take over and continue those business - once they are gone, they are gone forever.

I have started a WIP thread about modifying an Airtrax 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC to the de Rethy 330 GTC Speciale.

Not really a kit, but I won this on ebay Germany for about €  15.00 - a complete body of the 250 GT "Breadvan" which has very good proportions - will combine this with an Italeri or Protar GTO kit.

As it has already the rear bumpers which have been added after Le Mans, it will be turned into the 3rd place car of the 1000 km of Paris (Monthlery).

Here is another ebay Germany steal: Tecnomodel 1961 Ferrari 250 GT "Sperimentale"  - the predecessor of the GTO; thick high quality resin casting, but very good proportions and delicate details. Although the bid was only for the body, I could not resist !

With an Italeri GTO or California Spider as donor kit + some decals an acceptable replica should be possible (here is a link to the Ferrari department of the ebay-shop of www.lemansdecals.com:    https://www.ebay.de/str/lemansdecals/Ferrari-/_i.html?_storecat=18415570010)

now some decals (for Le Mans 1961 and 62):

Here is the restored car at Pebble Beach and in Laguna Seca's Corkscrew:

I am fortunate to have the Tecnomodel 1961 Ferrari 250 GT "Sperimentale" kit too.  The kit is very detailed including the engine.

I am very glad to see this thread alive again.

on the subject of unobtanium ...

While starting in on the UMI Barchetta kit - I remembered that I also had this buried in my stash

Sold to me by UMI - I believe that Mike had Fisher do the body - hence the Acme tag under the tail ...

rare  rare   rare

thick casting but as with all of Paul Fisher's efforts - lines are spot on ...

I've also got a slightly started Peter Wright vac formed Spyder Corsa kit

- which is one reason that I'm going to try to get castings of the the Ferrari engine that I'm building on the Model Cars thread

will ask Norman or Harold to do the honors ...

Pretty sure Paul cast a 330LMB I have as well. RnD did one but not as good, have that too.  MFH did nice 275 4 cam Comp, and I forget who did a 14 louver TdF.
I need to go get pics of mine if anyone wishes. I have similar GTO64 but forget where it came from. Brad did a corrected long-nose D-type looong ago. OT but I think he did great 14 louver as well.
Fun thread, glad it got revived.

This are from the Hachette Le Grandi Ferrari collection.  I really need to tone down those chrome wire wheels though.

Just a brief follow on my GTO series II post. -  Paul Fisher informs me that this was not one of his - believes it to be a Joker knockoff - interesting -

it does have that distinct petroleum odor when you sand or grind the resin - which - as Fisher points out - means that I should “mask up” when I prep the body …

Are Paul and Susie ok? Recovering lives? I think of them.

Paul and the Mrs lost everything in the Paradise fire - I think this is mentioned on his site - which is still up - although taking no orders ....

- but they have decided to return to Paradise - in a condo at present - while deciding where to live ...

Paul's sense of humor remains perfectly intact  -  would like to meet them some day -

Yes, a few friends got hit. Paul and Susie lost everything. Great people. Never know how strong you are until there’s no other choice.
Same number from site?
Thank you for update.

Tho I don't know him personally, just because I got one of his kits I think about his loss every time I see it on the shelf.  Thanks for letting us know.

Would you consider allowing Harold or Norman to cast the body? I would love to have a copy.
