This BBurago 1961 Porsche 356B came yesterday.  It is identical to previous issues except for the color which is labeled as ivory.  But......it is a mat finish, very unusual.  I also saw that Welly has issued a white cabriolet version also.

As with the previous releases it is large.  Here shown with my favorite 356, a Super 90 from Metro for size comparison.

Impressive Escort Helmut.  The graphics alone are pretty impressive.

Thanks, Gary - the best thing is: you don't have to buy some aftermarket sponsor decals - the tobacco markings are all there (the Hachette WRC collection - also from Ixo - does NOT have them)

Muntz! Cool.
@Gramps46 time for Qtips and future. I always liked Ivory on those.
Killer Mk. 2, Mikkola could flog that thing. Waldegaard too

Please tell us more about the models.  Scale and origin.

Sorry for the slow reply. The Daytona coupe was bought from club cobra site in the 90’s. Exoto. Has a serial number. Had the number 6 car but gave that to my friend Mark. The Shelby GT 350 is a Lane collectible.also a numbered car. The yellow mustang is a autoart car that the wife bought me years ago. There was a very big diecast store in Roseville California that I used to stop in. He had pretty much everything. Went out of business in 08. My collection is very small. I only bought serial number cars that were expensive for the time. Figured get quality rather than quantity. I will try to clean up my Don Garlits dragsters and post them. Bought them from the store in Roseville. Have a few Indy cars, will try to post them also. Thanks for the interest.

Keyser - I know that video (from ca. 1979) -  don't forget Ari Vatanen (1980 champion), Roger Clark, Timo Mäkinen etc.

You’re really beating on me today. I’ve had enough coffee so not going to have handbag fight.

Local toy show yesterday, first one I've been to in 3 months. (Just hadn't been in the mood.) Got three 1/24 diecasts, all $10 each:

1. Maisto Dodge viper in dark green metallic

2. Maisto Lambo Diablo in purple

3. Ertl '63 Vette coupe in black with red interior.

All are slightly "distressed" and in need of cleanup/Love. The Vette needs some of its paint touched up but should be easy--it's black and I've got a new Sharpie black oil paint marker. Only thing missing seems to be the right-side mirror on the Lambo, but I can just display the other side out.

I'm getting close to getting in the mood to go out in the shed and try to find all my tools and paints and so-forth, which The Lovely Mrs. Snake unceremoniously stashed back there last spring when I had my stroke. Got about six new diecasts now that would make "Getting Back Into It" projects. Wish me luck.

And here they are. Had a fit of industry today and took some pics.

Even better, went out to the shed and found two large cardboard boxes that I THINK might hold most if not all of my tools, paints, and other modeling materials. Brought them in the house. Hope to get around to going through them and sorting stuff out in the next few days. Wish me luck.

Way to go Snake.  I received the Big A Auto Parts Ertl 63 Corvette today and it is quite a surprise.  It is 1/25 scale, quite unusual for a diecast.  It is totally unique from my other diecast Split Windows so not from the same mold.  Though in original box and packaging there are no knockoffs.  I am showing it with a Danbury Mint for size comparison.

Very cool! With some luck, by this time next week, mine will look at least as good as yours! ;)

I'm planning to add the wheel knockoffs from a common AMT '63 kit.

Are you going to chrome or otherwise detail your hood vents? I'm still thinking about how to deal with that.

Snake

It sure looks like ERTL used the AMT knockoffs in the photo on the box.  I am still undecided how far I want to go with this model.  The stance is a bit high for me.  The hood vents are an issue.  I have tried various methods including stick ons and am not totally happy with anything I tired.

Here I have added a comparison with a white AMT original kit and a silver Revell promo in 1/25th scale.

Gary, you certainly will find a way to let it look less toylike - let us know what you will do.

By the way, Welly has a surprisingly well done split-window:

Yes, I have one of those too, somewhere--IIRC mine is red.
