It appears that I was wrong about the hood ornaments. Each kit has only one. I guess I was thinking of the Johan '63 Plymouth Fury kit. That has a pair, but unfortunately, they are a different style. You could always steal one from the Lindberg '64 Belvedere kit. There's not a lot of difference between the '64 and '67 ornaments. Steve
Lordmodelbuilder Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Hey Steve , I have the unbuilt engine from the Revell 69 Charger pictured here. Let me know if you want it & it's yours. Brad

I can bug you later if I need another Mopar engine.......Which I no doubt will! Seriously, thank you for the offer Brad! Steve

I have several old "flat box" Johan kits, including the '65 Fury, a '64, '66 and '67 Fury, a '67 Chrysler 300 and a '64 Dodge Polara. You'll likely never see any of these again! Steve Excellent collection. At one time or another, I had all of those kits. I still have some of them in the collection waiting to be built. Right now I am restoring a 66 Chrysler 300 hardtop I picked up a couple of weeks ago. Its missing a seat, seatback, and steering wheel. I think I have some of The pieces I need, if not, I'll have to find something. Your Spanish Red 66 300 is the inspiration behind this one. I haven't decided on the color yet.. Steve They did have the same backs, and I have those kits, but no cushions or seat backs. I can put an engine together from what I have.
Brutalform Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Did anyone see how much that eBay kit ended up going for? I forgot to look as I was in Atlantic City for the weekend.

If it's any indication, Model Roundup has one for sale in their "vintage vault" for $349.90! Boy! I'm glad that I got mine when I did! Steve

Must be this one: Another seller currently has a resin kit for $100 less than that - Don't know about the quality, but at least it's out there. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-Plymouth-Fury-Hardtop/401768473770?hash=item5d8b4464aa:g:WfsAAOSwrPZcn85r Edited June 4, 2019 by ChrisBcritter
StevenGuthmiller Posted June 5, 2019 Author Posted June 5, 2019 I'm really surprised at how the clear coats brought out the color of this paint! I can't say as I've seen this much of a transformation before. It's definitely turquoise now! 5 coats of Duplicolor clear on and ready for polishing. I'll paint the vinyl top black once the polishing is finished. Steve Before After

(I had said $160+) If it were stone original (nothing started) it might have gone even higher!
StevenGuthmiller Posted June 14, 2019 Author Posted June 14, 2019 Still managing to make some slow progress on this project. I spent a good portion of the day detailing the firewall! But now it's done except for the master cylinder and maybe a decal or two. This is what I started with. This is the finished product. Steve
StevenGuthmiller Posted June 15, 2019 Author Posted June 15, 2019 Couple of pics of the firewall in the body. Steve
OldNYJim Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 Beautiful work Steve! I’ve got a firewall to work on this weekend so this is timely inspiration. You do such clean accurate work!
Brutalform Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 Looks great Steve. The detail really stands out. It’s like the firewall is a model in its own sense.
